Swaps 💌 If you haven't received a swap from me in a reasonable amount of time, please contact me. I know USPS can and have made a lot of mistakes. I will gladly resend.😁 I have had a half-eaten envelope returned to me! So, it is not an infallible system!
Hi! My name is Julia!!!!!
I’ve lived in Michigan my whole life and love it because of the four seasons it has. I have previously worked on a diverse vegetable farm, so I loved being able to time the season by what crops were ready. Some of my favorite vegetables are potatoes, asparagus, and broccoli. This season, I am so excited to U-pick most of the local fruit. So far I have harvested a bunch of strawberries, and plan to U-pick raspberries, blueberries, cherries, and apples! I have already baked a strawberry rhubarb pie from scratch and am excited about the many fruit possibilities! I adore being outside in all seasons. Farming has helped me appreciate working in all types of weather and teaching me to cook with the freshest ingredients. Right now I am currently (dying) waiting for tomato season. Some of my friends think I’m weird because I love heirloom tomatoes so much that I can eat them like apples. Most of the time when I buy cherry tomatoes at the farmers market, they do not make it home!
From above, I’m sure that you can tell I enjoy being outside, but that also includes hiking, camping, biking, and swimming. That being said, even though I do all these outside activities you can never find me without a book. I love reading fantasy and sci-fi. I am a part of 2 library systems within the city that I live in and usually have 10+ books checked out at a time. My to-read is ever growing, but I am always excited to get recommendations and to hear about what everyone else is reading! So far I have already read 51 books this year and I am hoping to reach my goal of 100 by the end of December.
I started sending postcards through post crossings, but my friend recommended this platform so I’d thought would give it a try! Some of my favorite postcards I have received are those with animals, (I learned about the Echidna from an Australian writer), flowers, landmarks, and cute stickers! Being a postcard writer has fed my obsession for being able to buy cute stickers! Now whenever I go into a store I am always on the lookout for cute ones!
I don't want to micromanage what people send to me, because the act of getting mail makes me happy, so I will include a general likes section below.
Likes: plants, sewing, painting, reading, quotes, nature, animals (turtles!!), tomatoes, flowers, herbs, cats, candles, books, libraries, quilts, my bed, and water.
I am open to BOTH handmade and Store-bought PC!!!
I’m looking forward to swapping with you all! -Julia
