I am an educator, bookworm, cinephile, video game afficionado, and all-around geek!

I am an eternal idealist and perpetual goofball. I am truly a big kid at heart and cannot imagine shirking my sense of childlike wonder. I just have too much fun!

I just received my first full-time teaching position with a private Christian school near home! I am the middle school English teacher, and I couldn't be more excited at the prospect (and maybe a tad bit nervous, too)!

I have very eclectic music taste, from Finnish power metal to bluegrass. Some of my favorite musicians include:

The Beach Boys, The Decemberists, Eluveitie, Eric Clapton, Lamb of God, The Polyphonic Spree, Powerglove, Rend Collective, Sonata Arctica, & Weird Al.

I've seen Weird Al in concert about half a dozen times, and I really hope Powerglove comes around soon!

I love classics, dystopian, fantasy, historical fiction, and kids' lit! Some of my favorite novels are:

1984, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, Harry Potter, Holes, Howl's Moving Castle, Jude the Obscure, The Lord of the Rings, Pope Joan, Pride and Prejudice, The Road, Stargirl, & The Woman in White.

I am a total ringer. It would be pretty awesome to read the Histories of Middle Earth with a book group, and I've actually presented analyses of Tolkien's texts in conferences before. His work is SO rich! I couldn't love it more!

I love Pixar, Richard Linklater, foreign films, Jimmy Stewart, Alfred Hitchcock, anime, and documentaries, as well as:

Before Sunrise, The Boxtrolls, The Emperor's New Groove, It's a Wonderful Life, Jurassic Park, The Lord of the Rings, Miracle on 34th Street, Monsters Inc., Pride & Prejudice, & Toy Story.

When I was in high school, I wanted to be a film critic, and so I still really love watching, talking about, and analyzing movies! I post movie ratings on https://abornandbredmediac.wordpress.com!

I collect DBZ and Pokemon ATCs, obviously. :D Help me build my collections! :)

Gohan is my HERO. He's my #1 favorite character, and I SHIP Gohan and Videl for DAYS! But seriously, Gohan is the best! I am getting a little misty-eyed just thinking about it right now!

I also love Chi Chi, Future Trunks, Goten, Krillin, Piccolo, Vegeta, and so many other characters! DBZ is a good favorite show to have!

I am Nintendo fiend! I love POKEMON, first and foremost, as well as my ever-coveted Super Nintendo! I also love Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Mass Effect, & Zombies Ate My Neighbors!

We collect systems, so we own a Retron (Genesis, NES, SNES), Xbox 360, Xbox 1, PS3, PS4, Gamecube, Wii, PSP, and 3DS. We just love games ! End of story.

My husband has Sonic, Shadow, and Pyramid Head tattoos. I am looking into getting my first, and I want Dragon Ball Z!

We're also a little Organization XIII obsessed! Roxas and Axel!?!?!? Drool

In my grad program, we did a lot of journaling, and I have been making ATCs for about a year now! I have a collection of over 500 already!

I like drawing and sketching, as well as working with acrylics and spray paint. I like to make pop culture art, I LOVE mashups, and I want to zentangle everything!

I starting doing ATCs with my sixth graders and middle schoolers, as well, which is so much fun!

I also love creative writing, baking, and cake decorating! I enjoy making themed cupcakes for books/movies/TV shows/games when it's not so hot outside!

I'm a pretty happy-go-lucky swapper and enjoy almost anything I receive! Here are a few notes, though! :)

I've just started doing decoden, so I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to receive any little cabochons or other supplies I could incorporate into my crafting!

I'm not really a tea person, but my husband is, so any tea bags I receive will be happily enjoyed by him! ;) I do love coffee, though!

My sister loves to sew, so any geeky fabric scraps are wholly welcome! :)

Being a total geek, game and anime-related items are always appreciated! I am also a teacher, so items that could be used in my classroom (I teach middle school) are great, too!

• Collections - Aside from ATCs, I collect: Dragon Ball Z memorabilia, Garbage Pail Kids Cards, Little Apple Dolls, Living Dead Dolls, Lord of the Rings memorabilia, and Vinylmation. :)

• Places I Want to Visit - I've never been out of the U.S., but there are so many please we'd like to go! The places I'd most like to traverse to are: England, Finland, Ireland, Japan, and New Zealand!
