Hello, I'm Julia-Rose!

I'm 23 years old, living in Northern California with my 2 cats. I'm a pretty cheerful and sunny young woman trying to find my way through my early 20's (what opportunities! what worries! what confusion! what hopes! oh what a mess haha) and learning to love it all.

Between working at a group home for severely emotionally disturbed and aggressive boys, fostering kitties, taking nature walks and doing pilates, I do all sorts of crafts and mixed media art. I graduated with an English degree from UCDavis in 2007 and soon realized I was sick of writing (all those papers!) so I decided to work at the group home mentioned above.

I'm looking for a couple snailmail penpals with some of the same interests as me--(please no attempts at converting or cutesy diddle/pooh/disney/teddybears) but most importantly someone optimistic! I like to send little crafty things in my mail as well, like bookmarks, handmade or store bought booklets, jewelry, pretty papers and craft supplies. Unfortunately I can't do it all, every letter, so fat mail goes out randomly. I like penpals that spend a fraction extra time on their letters (like using cool stationery instead of ripped out notebook paper, or instead of sending their letter in a bland envelope, spicing it up with paint or stickers or decotape etc). One last thing, I need a penpal who is flexible and understands how busy life can get at times! Sometimes I can't get my letters out (and give them the time they and YOU deserve) for a month or two. I always apologize and explain why it's so late, and I'm open to email contact whenever needed.

I'm also looking for slam swappers! I love slams and am always looking for new swappers (to swap around 5-10 each time--or just once if that's all you need)
