I'm a Sag married to a Leo and lovin' our 5 year old Virgo girl. I'm pretty liberal and like to keep up with what's going on, but hate all the heated discussions. Not religious, but love the iconography. I used to have a huge collection of "Sacred Hearts" (including a big ol' tattoo of one on my body)... but they got handed off to someone in one of my many moves. I love old cars and modern homes. I grew up with grandparents who swore by Danish Modern design. Now I get it. I read Dwell and sometimes (when no one's looking) "O". I have 2 dogs, a cat, 2 fish and a step dog that belongs to our neighbor. I love my friends more than anything. I'm lucky to have good ones! I used to think I'd take a photo a day. And I haven't. I love to bake - hate to cook. Love the beach - but can barely swim. My daughter asks me at least once a week what my favorite color is, and I always answer orange and hot pink. But I usually wear black or grey. I'm 5'2", but I feel really tall. I'm older than I look, and I feel younger than I am. There's rarely a day that goes by that my husband doesn't remind me that "life is crazy!!" - and I love it!

REM, old Stones, I'm From Barcelona, TV on The Radio, Aimee Mann at Christmas, Feist, Beck, TMBG, Gwen, Nada Surf, Champale, Johnny Cash, Rosie Flores, Stereo Lab, Stone Roses, The White Stripes... I'm all over the place and won't go on. I've turned my daughter on to St. Etienne, Beck, Ween, The Go-Go's - and I love that her favorite song is the Velvet Underground's "What Goes On In Your Mind."

Haven't read in ages, but really miss and love a good book... There's "The Unbearable Lightness of Being", "The Fountainhead", "The Corrections", "Geek Love" and anything written by Truman Capote, Tennessee Williams, and any other damaged southerner.

Breakfast at Tiffany's, 24 Hour Party People, Little Miss Sunshine, Lost In Translation, To Sir With Love - will add more when I'm less tired.

I LOVE TV! Old TV: Brady Bunch, MASH, Bewitched, Scooby Doo, Family Affair, I Dream of Jeannie, I Love Lucy and Fury. New TV: Lost, Project Runway, Survivor, Top Chef, Nip Tuck, Make Me A Supermodel, Big Brother - ok, basically, if it's a guilty pleasure - I'm watching it.

I love anything that incorporates photos, felt, sequins, and love. I come from very crafty roots, and have lost touch. My grandmother was the first recycler, I think. She could turn drift wood into an Easter egg tree, styrofoam into, well, anything. Through her, I opted to take oil painting lessons rather than attend summer camp when I was 8 - and I'm glad I did. Although I'm just getting back into crafting with my daughter, because of my grandmother, I never see things completely as they are, rather as what they will be.
