~US only~

Ok most swaps are themed for specific items, ever wanted to join a swap but dont really have the items required to craft with? Maybe you have just ran out of something you use a lot?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's how it will work:
  1. Sign up
  2. Comment here "Quick! I need....(and list 3 things you need)
  3. Partners will be assigned at which point you must send each partner 1 item that they need.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

3 partners each. So you will be sending 3 things quick!

Fun part is: 3 partners and 3 things needed, will you get 1 of each item? or 3 of 1 item?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please list supplies only. Suggestions, but not limited to:
ATC blanks (please send a nice amount, not just 2 or 3)
ATC sleeves (i believe these come in 50's)
Ribbons
stickers
beads
glitter
sharpies
envelopes (white, manilla, fancy, asst.)
card stock
pretty papers
confetti
rub-ons
transfers
yarn
sequins
rubber stamp
ink pad
tea/tea bags
kawaii
buttons
eyelets/brads
notepads
spells
charms
jars/bottles
jewels/gems
Postage (specify used or unused)
I am not listing specific amounts - but please send nice amounts, remember this may be an item that is needed to complete another swap that your partner has ran out of and needs it QUICK! or it may be something they want to start swapping with, or just something that is low in their supplies. You never know.
Hearts - send 2 items from the list and go for hearts!
Comments MUST be listed here by the signup deadline. If you do not list your needs you will be removed before partners are assigned. A fast swap, and will not wait for comments to be posted at SEND deadline, that puts others in a bind.
A quick and easy swap! Signups will end friday - and send by wednesday to make it a fast swap.
New swappers welcome.
Shame about the short amt. of turn around time. Some of us have to plan our buying around the 1st of each month when the moolah comes in.
synuay 10/10/2007 #
Anam - Yes sorry bout the short turn around, thats why its called - Quick! I need.... but i will keep trying to host it, so maybe you can jump in next time if this one isnt convenient.
Yes I know sometimes hard to coordinate when we run out of something and when the cash comes in. Do you have any of the things people are asking for in your 'stash' already?
IheartSwap - what kinda tape? deco, scotch, double-sided, duct tape or doesnt matter, any of the above?
synuay 10/10/2007 #
off topic but:
ok, this will sound really dumb, ecspecially since i listed it in the suggestions, what is kawaii?? I have seen it in tons of swaps thats why i listed it as a suggestion, must be very popular. Can anyone elaborate for me??
nellieb3 10/10/2007 #
Quick! I need:
ixazalvoh 10/10/2007 #
synuay, kawaii is romanized japanese for "cute"...it is a generic term used to describe the uber-cuteness that comes from japan (ex: san-x, relax bear, hello kitty). it encompasses all those obnoxiously adorable characters you can't help but love...basically kawaii is cuteness -ixazalvoh
__deleted__ 10/10/2007 #
  1. Double Sided Tape/Archival Safe Scrapbook Tape Runner
  2. Unused (US) Postage
  3. Bubbleopes - Small to Medium Sized.
What a great Swap! Thank-you for hosting it! :]
synuay 10/10/2007 #
thanks ixazalvoh - out of that i did understand hello kitty. LOL so its japanese cartoon characters? like precious moments dolls here in the states? so kawaii means 'cuteness' but if someone asks for kawaii, they want the japanese version not the U.S. version of cute cartoon character stuff. am i getting warm???? (geeez i must be getting old if i cant keep up with cuteness.)
And you are all welcome for the swap - I know we all have times when we have an awesome idea to finish up a project, finally make time to get to our 'crafty corners', and then its.... oh, come on, you gotta be kidding me.. ..I know I had more _____! .. ..AHHHHHHHHHHH! (or a nice string of not so nice words!)
Have fun with the swap everyone! I will keep trying to host it so others can jump aboard too after this one.
hestiashearth 10/10/2007 #
Awesome awesome awesome idea (as everyone else and their mother said!).
Quick! I need: 1. Postcards 2. Unused U.S.P.S. stamps 3. Things to decorate handmade cards - so glitter, sequins, ribbons, etc.
hestiashearth 10/10/2007 #
I see that AsteraPallas included "Bubbleopes" in the list. What IS that?????
twobluecrows 10/10/2007 #
Bubbelopes= padded envelopes with bubble-wrap instead of stuffing for the padding. lightweight protection for your "delicate mailables". Cyn
twobluecrows 10/10/2007 #
Quick, I need... 1. metallic papers--a batch of small pieces (~2"x2") is fine, don't need anything big 2. embossing pen 3. flat-backed rhinestones asst colors and sizes (acrylic ones are fine)
Fairyandgnome, what size/shape labels are you looking for?
Cyn
MamaBowers 10/10/2007 #
Quick! I need... 1. Ink pad(s) 2. buttons 3. Kawaii (I have never gotten any before so I thought this would be a good way to start my stock!)
flowerlily64 10/10/2007 #
synuay I didnt know what kawaii was so I did a google "image" search and now I know. ixazalvoh's explanation was great also.
I just stumbled onto this swap and it is just too short of a time since I have a business trip next week. I hope I can join the next one. I have one question...what are "ATC's" (e.i "...ATC blanks...ATC sleeves.")
flowerlily64 10/10/2007 #
oh yeah...one more question...is there a way of saving a swap like in a favorites list or something? I would like to save this one and see if I can participate next time.
iheartswap 10/10/2007 #
AHH thanks, goood point! SORRY for my tape request it is:
scotch, double-sided, or clear mailing packaging tape! any will do :)
stacirose 10/10/2007 #
This is really great! I love this idea!
I really need:
  • assorted large glass beads
  • FIMO soft (white but any colors!)
  • memo pads: not post-its, or spiral, but the lined kind with the glue at the top (I hope that was descriptive enough!)
  • assorted pewter charms
  • mini blank note cards (itty bitty!)
Can't wait to see what comes in the mail! :D
Kristipye 10/11/2007 #
Irene 10/11/2007 #
This sounds like a great swap. Unfortunately, a known flaker has joined, and I'm a bit nervous that I'd end up with her as my partner. See this thread: http://www.swap-bot.com/forums/topic/2623
This isn't the only thread she's mentioned in. I run a Yahoo group in which she left owing swaps. Just thought as the host, you'd want a heads up.
stacirose 10/11/2007 #
Hey Irene!
I recently ran my first swap and ended up blocking someone from the swap. (I won't say why...) But, if you bring this kind of information up to the host/hostess, I'm sure they will take everything into account before assigning partners. As the host, you are able to block people from your swaps at your discretion...
I would suggest, that if you have concerns, message the host/hostess about them.
synuay 10/12/2007 #
hi guys, okay im going to address the 'questionable swapper' first of all.
I will not mention a name,but i have contacted this person, i have received an immediate reply that has been satisfactory to me. I am allowing the swapper to stay.
"bad swaps" happen, life happens, things are late, lost, etc. I have read all threads presented to me, among a few others i found on my own. all across these boards there is drama and everyone asks "why is this or that swapper still allowed to participate?" well in this case the swapper has responded to my messages, i feel the past is the past regardless, and "bad or questionable swappers" cannot prove themselves if they are not given a chance.
I have been promised of full participation from this swapper, and for whoever they are partnered with, IF there becomes a 'no send' or bad swap situation, I WILL ANGEL to their partners that did not receive. As ultimately it is my decision to let them stay, and therefor i will also take responsibility for that, if they do not send, i will.
I hope this eases others concerns who may want to join. But I feel they have communicated with me, they have shown all intention of participating,soooo..........
LET'S SWAP!!!!
synuay 10/12/2007 #
~~~lets leave the drama to the soap operas!~~~

twobluecrows 10/12/2007 #

flowerlily64--you could do what I do and make a notepad document on your computer with a list if all the swaps you like but can't join right now, then later, either look for it again, or host it yourself! I save the file right to my desktop and can add to it and check it anytime I want to.

I do the same thing with lists of all the swaps I have each month, a different file for each month, and check them off as I send them out. I add the partners info to the listing of each swaps they come, so I don't have to go to swap-bot just to find their address when I'm ready to label the mail.

In these lists I just put the title of the swap, the mailing dates, and a brief description. I also add info from my partners' profiles so I can personalize the packages as I put them together.

Cyn

synuay 10/12/2007 #

flowerlily64 - also ATC's are art trading cards. they measure 2.5" X 3.5". just a small work of art you create to collect, trade, whatever. you can find many examples online. ATC blanks are just cardstock in the required size ready for your ideas, and sleeves are plastic/cellophane sleeves like the ones kids put sports trading cards in to keep them safe.

that would be a good thing to put on your "Quick! I need... list if you join the next swap. Im sure others would be happy to send you some examples, it might be something you would enjoy making and then later swapping with.

JL 10/12/2007 #

Quick I need:

  1. Distress Ink Pad (vintage/brown)
  2. Pretty Papers
  3. Brads or ribbons

This swap seems fun and can't wait to see who my partner is

synuay 10/13/2007 #

ok guys partners are assigned. i know i had a few messages about when everyone could find their partners. i had to wait for the option to assign partners to show up.

have fun! :-)

stacirose 10/13/2007 #

Cyn...that is such a great idea! I was just thinking...didn't I just send out eight packages to this person? (Which I don't mind at all or I wouldn't be at Swap-bot!) Why don't I have their address and info?!!

Fabulous! Thanks, Staci

synuay 10/16/2007 #

stacirose - you just sent out 8 packages to who? lol i was totally confused/lost with your post, but i hope you got it figured out. either to early when it was posted or to early when i read it. LOL

jstubbs 10/17/2007 #

Just had to say this was such a fun swap! I haven't gotten anything yet (patiently waiting), but I had fun making the packages! You must do this one again!!

stacirose 10/19/2007 #

I'm on a lot of medication...sometimes it takes me longer than I'd like to figure things out! :P LOL!

But, I usually do!!! :D

nellieb3 10/31/2007 #

Is anyone else still waiting on packages and ratings from this swap? This is my first swap, so I'm not really sure how this all works. But it has been two weeks and I have only gotten one of my three packages!
