Description:

I'm wild about stamp carving right now and I can't get enough of searching Flickr for ideas. I thought that it would be a great idea to start a swap to showcase some of your favorite designs in the form of ATCs.

Here's the idea, you'll send 2 partners 2 ATCs (4 cards total) that feature in some way a stamp you carved yourself. It can be carved on anything- an eraser, a carving block, a potato, whatever, as long as you carved it yourself by hand. Your stamps can be a major design element or used as a background accent, that's your call.

If your stamp was carved from a non copyrighted image it would be nice to share the source so that if your partner loves it they can take a stab at making one for themselves. If you drew the design yourself, claim your workmanship. The main idea of this swap is to see what other people are doing with their stamps and exchange ideas.

Here are a few links to get you started if you've never done it and would like to play:

Ok, so here's the fine print. This is my first swap so I don't know how to put you all through a rigorous background check before I let yous sign up. You'll know if there's something fishy in your swapping history and if it's going to be obvious to me so go ahead and send me a PM in advance. I'm super laid back so unless you've flaked on every swap you've ever been in or something, I probably won't ban anyone. Newbies are welcome.

Since it's just ATCs I'm going to make it international.

your first link
your second
your third
i thought it would help if they're click-able, since they're a bit close together.

Oh, fun! ^_^ I carve almost all of the stamps I use for ATCs =]

I also have a tutorial on stamp-carving! http://www.flickr.com/photos/kylanicole/sets/72157605964395418/

(heh, I don't know how to make it clickable, either =X )

dreamerkins- Thanks so much for the clickable links. I looked at the little tutorial, but I couldn't figure it out.

Kylanicole- I love your tutorial. If you don't mind, I'd like to add it to this swap and future stamp carving swaps.

kn- How bad is it that I recognized all the stamps in your Flickr swap from stalking them looking for great hand carved stamp images?

You've got some really cute ones yourself, BTW. That worm is adorable.

I haven't done this before (carving a stamp) so forgive me dear partners if they stink lol

I am so impressed with my first stamp! I found something both partners liked, so that made that easy! I can't draw but magically managed to do a pretty good job, carved stamped and nearly fell over when it was perfect :D... Now to figure out the rest of the ATC LOL and to think about No2!
