About Me

Not quite sure what to write....

plain and simple, i like to make things. practical things preferably...for the last two years I've made every single one of the presents for my family (lots of them!) and friends.

i sew mostly, but i also started to branch out into embroidery, working with clay, etc. i still haven't mastered any sort of yarn art. i have tried both knitting and crocheting to no avail. i used to make candles, but i moved into an apartment and i'm worried i'm going to set it on fire, so i stopped making them. I recently was given multiple rolls of colored wire, and I'm kind of excited to use that to make jewelry or other things that require wire.

Despite my yarn-inabilities, I would like to aquire some yarn scraps because I recently saw a tutorial on how to make sweater patches, but I'm too cheap to buy multiple skeins of yarn for that.

It's hard for me to pass up trying new crafty things. Its nice because if I need a random supply like gesso or modge podge or fabric paint, I usually already have it, but its hard on my lack of storage space and my budget.

my favorite colors are probably grays, black, and brown. I like the mix of orange/brown/turquoise though.

i've started to build my japanese fabric collection. i love all of them.

I actually have a pretty decent fabric collection, for someone who doesn't sew for profit. Its hard for me to say no to fabric. I love fabric scraps too. They're probably more fun than yardage because of the variety.

i love dill pickles, hamburgers, and birthday cake.

and i love my dog, atticus. he's a golden retriever mutt. but i'm not a fan of most "dog things" (like stuff with paw prints).

i hate most cutesy stuff.

i like small unusual cookie cutters. i use them to make dog biscuits.

I have a ton of old / antique buttons my mom bought me from an estate sale, but I still look at buttons every time I'm in the store anyway.

I love thrift stores. My local goodwills keep me stocked in old and unusual fabrics and in other random craft supplies.
