About Me

I am a Blaxican eco goth* (not the Scooby Doo fandom kind) living in Los Angeles. I am married, and have a cat named Lord Baby Ophelia and a guinea pig named Brutus.

I am a SAHW, but previously worked as a wardrobe stylist. I am currently coming to terms with the strong possibility that I am autistic with the help of my therapist and husband. It has been alarming and eye-opening. I am currently writing my first romance book which has unfortunately been slow going, but I intend to self-publish next year. Nevertheless, I am proud of my progress so far.

I love fine art, nature, horror movies, the Victorian era, vinyl records, antiques, tea, fashion and animals. My favorite things to do is read (nonfiction, and historical romance and horror fiction), sewing, junk journaling, thrifting, drawing/painting, cozy gaming, playing board games, watching Dragula, and cooking. I am currently relearning to play my flute, relearning to speak Spanish (my first language), and learning to knit and crochet.

Note: I have a portable CD player, so mix "tapes" are welcomed!

Random interests: Cults and the occult, zines, graphic novels, ethically sourced nature specimens, poetry, sex-positivity, human sexuality, drag queens, catholic art and imagery, romantic satanism, Irises (flower), Orchids, minimalism, simple living, native gardening, Sudoku, Gustave Dore, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and cats. Gothic, Brutalist, and Bauhaus design and architecture. I don't think it would be a surprise to anyone that my favorite holiday is Halloween.

Favorite colors: red, black, silver, dark green, dove gray, neon/acid green

Favorite animals: rabbits, cats, swans, lambs, and ravens

*Eco Goth: Goths who desire to not only follow a darker aesthetic but want to do so in a way that doesn't damage the environment.

What I Would Prefer Not to Receive

  1. Items featuring AI generated "art"

  2. Fandom items (Harry Potter, Supernatural, Doctor Who, Disney, etc.)

  3. Black licorice or anise flavored items

  4. Shabby Chic things

  5. Strongly scented /sprayed with perfume/perfume samples (my nose can't take it; painful)

Favorite Music

I love all kinds of music. Darkwave, hardcore punk, and classical are the top three genres. I also enjoy Kendrick Lamar, Leikeli47, Missy Elliott, and Prince. My roots are in punk, so Rudimentary Peni and Ceremony are my favorite bands after Bauhaus. I also love Lingua Ignota and Divide & Dissolve (both female led and heavy). Without question, moody songbirds like Fiona Apple and PJ Harvey are frequent listens as well. Love ABBA!

Right now I am getting really into dark, doom-y jazz.

Favorite Crafts

I do a lot of textile and paper crafts.

I make clothes for myself and always on the hunt for interesting metal, mother of pearl, and dark wood buttons. I have also made toys for my nieces and items for my guineas pig. Would love to get into embroidery, but feel I have too many hobbies already. I also Sashiko mend and darn socks, so love cool looking thread for darning.

I recently got into junk journals and love using my bookbinding skills to make them. I finished my Gothic romance/Tragic feminine junk journal, and am currently collecting ephemera for my late 70s punk/Dark punk/early goth junk journal.

Paper crafts started with collages and ripping up my fashion magazine collection. I have a lot of handmade envelopes, stamps, and artsy postcards to send out and use. I want to love washi tape, but I barely use them.

I also have a personal size ring bound planner that I enjoy using and putting together. I make my own stickers for it. I used to have a planner sticker shop on Etsy and still have some leftover sticker sets I can send out.
