About Me

I got a message that you needed more in my profile to ensure a successful swap -here’s a list of things that I love, that bring me joy and make me smile, as well as some ideas for my family. It’s all kind of pulled from various places (my kaboodle.com and amazon wish lists, an about me list from an old blog, etc.)

MY FAMILY: I have a two year old girl and together we love crafty/creative play, wooden toys, games, puzzles, puppets, dress up, baby dolls, educational toys, kitchen/cooking, clothing/accessories, sweets/treats, unique gifts from your country to represent your cultures and traditions. My husband is a firefighter and avid biker who loves the great outdoors - if anyone’s family member is connected to the local fire department, he loves collecting t-shirts from fire departments, as well as stickers (fire department, biking, outdoor, etc.) anything from other states in the U.S., and especially from all over the world!

TWO BIG PASSIONS: My two biggest passions are sewing and photography. I LOVE to mix vintage and modern fabrics – from shabby chic to mid century modern – if it’s eye catching and cool, I love it and can’t wait to find a project, usually patchwork, to put it together. Right now I'm playing with these books (good starting points, yes?) Denyse Schmidt, Amy Butler and Amy Karol and having fun. I just started sewing in 2007 - I've always been drawn to fabric, and can't believe it took me this long to learn to sew so I could do something with all the fabric I pick up here and there and everywhere. I also love to take pictures, especially of my daughter, and my sewing projects. I love these designers: Amy Butler, Heather Bailey, Joel Dewberry, Denyse Schmidt, Sandy Klop of American Jane, Heather Ross and these manufacturers: Michael Miller, Alexander Henry, Moda, Free Spirit, Robert Kaufman to give an idea am drawn to child-oriented european and asian (japanese!) fabric - anything fun/whimsical/worldly that is unique (not commonly found in the United States) would be a treasure!

Reusable shopping totes

I LOVE PATCHWORK, especially when it’s a mix of vintage with modern in unexpected fun combinations! Pillows, blankets, scarves, coasters, placemats – I get thrilled when I see all the colors and patterns playing together in a piece!

ETSY is my favorite place to “window shop online – I drool over all the eye candy – all the one of a ind, handmade, crafty goodness fills me with ideas and inspiration and appreciation for this online resource to connect crafters who love what they do with the people who love it all too!

I am NOT opposed to second hand pass-it-on items – if it’s clean and still have life in it for others to enjoy, that’s a wonderful way to share and save the earth!

MY JOY: color; creating; decorating; NY style salt bagels; blogging, hanging out in blogspace; staying up late, sleeping in; photography, candid moments captured; Target, Ikea; kawaii, quirky, genuine smiles; laugh out loud hilarious; happy tears; being D's mommy, being married to my best friend T & our fascinating family love triangle; biking - not the hard core kind; the bells, basket, easy/breezy kind; board games; thai food; iced chai tea lattes; flea markets, yard sales, craigslist; real mail, the happy kind, from real people (not the bills/junk kind!); field trips; date nights; weekend getaways; reading, book club, children's literature, libraries, reading with D; organizational strategies; sparks of creativity; sudoku; fresh flowers; fabric; flexible people; just because gift giving; learning new things; edgy blue (turquoisey blue/greens & purplish blue/reds); pretty things; parks, picnics, picnics in the park; polish pottery, underdogs; running the good race; sweet victory; uninterrupted quiet time; writing; wooden toys; window shopping; the ocean; toe dipping; jack johnson; inspiring, uplifting attitudes; God's good grace.

WHAT I CAN’T USE: lotions/soaps/scents – we’re highly allergic around here so have to stick to our ultra sensitive stuff – unless it’s an organic/all natural product that you suggest for eczema/dermatitis babies and allergy-prone grownups!

As a Christian, I also request that no images or items be sent that are pagan, occult, new age... no goddesses, tarot cards, voodoo, astrology, buddha, etc. please, and thank you for respecting my religious preferences.

I prefer not to get anything too cutesy - not a big Disney or "character" fan. I stray a bit from the mainstream/conventional pack and love things with character, charm and one-of-a-kind pizazz! Quirky is good too, as well as cultural (treasures from other countries are great!)

Peace and Blessings! Camille

Comment: You did great with your first swap. :) The map is really pretty - almost too pretty to cut up for ATCs. Almost... And I love IKEA, but rarely get there since the closest one is over an hour away. Thanks so much! Donia
