Live in beautiful western Wash., married, have three beautiful dogs (two male Great Pyrenees and a spunky girl who is 3/4 Border Collie and 1/4 Great Pyrenees), four cute guinea pigs and three chickens. I am a Christian who, after attending various traditional churches the past 3 years, ended up joining a contemporary non-denominational church, where the services and people were so alive and vibrant that it drew me in. I'm an avid crocheter, collect sheep items and postcards, and enjoy watching classic movies, true crime shows, NASCAR races, NFL football and figure skating.
Crocheting; have also done cross-stitch, beading and a little sewing, but mainly crochet. I am a true crochet addict and usually do some every day. Items I make include afghans, scarves, hats, doilies, table runners, Barbie clothes, dishcloths, hotpads baby clothes, ornaments - you name it! I have tried to learn knitting on a few occasions and it didn't take, so I took a private one-hour lesson in April '09. It felt totally awkward and I could tell I would not enjoy it at all. So I finally am done thinking and wondering if I could or should try to knit. No offense to you knitters; enjoy your craft. But I am exclusively and passionately a crocheter!!!

This is detailed on the interests page of my site evergreenrefuge.org - please visit! I will say that though I like certain modern movies and stars, I am a long-time fanatic of old 20s to 50s movies. I record many of the oldies shown on Turner Classic Movies on our DVR during the week so I can watch them during evenings and weekends.
This is detailed on the interests page of my site evergreenrefuge.org - please visit! I love crime dramas (especially NCIS and CSI: NY), certain vintage comedies and dramas, certain reality shows, NASCAR races, NFL games (Da Bears!), Cubs baseball (yes, am originally from Chicago), and figure skating. And -- The Dog Whisperer!
Great Pyrenees or Collie dog items, sheep figurines, stuffed sheep, most any other sheep collectibles, teddy bears, soft worsted weight or sport weight quality yarns (no fuzzy, bumpy or novelty yarns, please) or #10 premium crochet thread, size I metal or #3 and #5 steel crochet hooks, silver jewelry (note: if you send bracelets or rings, I have tiny wrists and fingers), postcards of where you live (especially views down streets - I prefer to receive postcards no larger than 4 x 6"), instant mocha or chai latte mix, pretzels (not chocolate-covered), pistachios. Favorite colors are (home decor) burgundy, sage, hunter, peach, cream, navy, and (apparel) burgundy, teal/turquoise, royal purple, black. No candles, colognes, lotions, candy or gum. Favorite scents are lily and gardenia. I love Hawaiian White Ginger (Avon).
They've definitely been positive for the most part. I've had one person who still never sent theirs and another I had an incident with, which we mutually agreed to remove our comments concerning that. I am enjoying Swap-bot and feel a swapper will get what they put into it. I send great swaps on time and have enjoyed the same for the most part. We really will sow what we reap....I do need to cut back for awhile on the swaps where items larger than postcards and letters (and maybe an occasional dishcloth) are sent, as the postage was getting to be too much.
9/20/11 -- WOW, someone just decided to ruin my perfect Swap-Bot rating today. And why? Because I sent her swap 3 days later than the deadline. I had explained that due to my work schedule, I can only get to the p.o. on Saturdays. I even sent her two items I hand-crocheted instead of the one that was required, because of the slight delay. And still she gave me a 3. This is what I get for swapping again after hibernating for a year. Maybe I'll hibernate again for good, if this is what people think of the time I take to hand-make them an extra item....
