Hi, I'm a 31-year-old artist and writer. I live with my husband and 3 cats and I spend way too much time watching Lord of the Rings. I work with a lot of found and recycled materials to make fun jewelry. I also silversmith. In a perfect world, I'd be learning lampwork.

I blog about body and fat acceptance at The Rotund and am currently working on a book. Lessons from the Fat-o-sphere, which I am writing with Kate Harding of Kate Harding's Shapely Prose, is a practical guide to living with the body you've got and is due out in Summer '09. It's very exciting.

I am, unfortunately, allergic to most of the planet Earth. Also, the Sun. It really sucks, but it especially sucks when someone sends me something that is otherwise totally awesome. For this reason, I'd like to avoid all food-related swap items. Thanks!

Right now I'm obsessed with art shrine necklaces and recycled furniture. My husband and I go trashing to look for interesting things left on the curb. We've decorated our living room almost completely in curb-side finds!

When I'm not wearing black, I'm wearing obnoxious. I love bright colors, no pastels for me. Right now I'm madly in love with bright yellow and my most recent makeup purchase was neon purple pigment for eyeshadow. I like really saturated hues, not necessarily just primary colors.

I don't watch tv though I've been known to rent the occasional season of something on DVD. I am too restless to sit there for long. I listen to a lot of goth-industrial music but I'm an optimist for sure. I'm fat and totally okay that - I have more time for making stuff now that I don't diet.
