i'm a wife, mama, homeschooler, vegetarian, artist, crafter, pagan, environmentalist, thrift-shopper, urban farmer, & coffee-lover. i love my husband & our child beyond reason, & i consider my close friends to be part of my family. my home is a cross between shabby chic, & rustic french country (white, cream, sage green, & barn red), with my child's stuff strewn about everywhere.

i love & enjoy many styles of music, but usually only a few bands or songs from different genres. my heart belongs to show-tunes.

my favorites include: the harry potter series, all things shakespeare, the mists of avalon, and the lynn kurland romance novels. yes i said it.. i like her romance novels! i also love reading books on grammar & word origin, & 'how i did it' types (like how i started my urban farm, or how i redid my french chateau, etc.)

the lord of the rings, excalibur, harry potter & the sorcerer's stone, lady jane, the princess bride, romeo & juliet (from the 60s), & whatever i'm obsessed with at the moment.

i love nature shows & documentaries. how i met your mother, keeping up appearances, as time goes by, cooking shows, super nanny. we don't have cable, so we rely heavily on public broadcasting (pbs.)

sewing, painting, drawing, miniatures, knitting, felting, repurposing, calligraphy, crocheting, embroidery, wait... i think it would be easier to list what i don't like.

i like muted, earthy colors; nothing bright, or pastel; with my favorites being taupe & black. vintage drives me wild (by vintage i mean very old, not 1970s & 80s.)i like rustic & utilitarian items, old signs, french advertisements, things with words on them. faeries, & gnomes (not the cutesy kind) make me smile, & i love the renaissance faire. i like skulls & a touch of the macabre, but only a very little bit. i love linen fabric, & faded velvet ribbons. i also collect eiffel towers, rustic wooden boxes, vintage linens,& white enamelware.

he is a 10yo version of me (minus the boy bits.) he loves 'harry potter', dragons, knights, faeries, & all the creatures of the magical world. he loves to create as much as i do, & his newest form is steampunk. when he's not making tiny objects for 'the borrowers' or the faeries, he can be found crawling about the garden, searching out signs of goblins or other beasties. he is also a dedicated environmentalist, & wants to be a rockstar & a chef when he's grown. we strive to provide a more nature-based childhood for him, so most of his toys are made of wood, fabric, & the like.

if you ever wish to tuck in a little treasure for him, he would be thrilled beyond belief. you'd also win his undying love.

my son has health issues, so i cannot accept anything that smells of cigarette smoke, no matter how lovingly made. thank you for understanding.
