I am a retired teacher. I mostly taught first grade, but the last few years I worked I had a combination kindergarten/first grade class. Now I have time on my hands and my daughter suggested I join swap-bot. She has been a member a few months now and enjoys the site.

I I like to find bargains so I like to shop the dollar bins and the dollar stores I also like to go to antique/junk stores and look for treasures. I don't like shopping for clothes or groceries.

I collect Little Red Riding Hood - dolls, figurines, paper dolls, books - anything related. One of my sisters also collects Little Red Riding Hood. The last few years we have been giving each other odd, funny or altered Riding Hoods. My sister is more creative than I am so I would appreciate any suggestions so I can one up her this year. I also collect other kinds of paper dolls. I especially like fairy tale, children and baby paper dolls. I like the older ones better. I don't think the newer ones are as good. I also collect older first grade reading books. I like the ones printed before the sixties.

I like making cards, scrapbooking, paper crafts and altering. I make tiny dioramas in decorated altoid tins. I can crochet, sew and embroider, but don't much any more. I've tried lots of other crafts, but never stuck to them long enough to get very good.

I love to read and that is the activity of choice. I like historical fiction, romantic suspense, some contemporary fiction. I don't like fantasy or paranormal books.

I have too many favorite authors to name. If Ilike an author I try to find as mamy of her books as I can so I go to the used book store often. Some authors I'm reading right now are Jodi Thomas, Susan Wiggs, Catherine Anderson and others.

I like Dancing with the Stars, Desparate Housewives, Survivor, Star Trek, Gray's Anatomy, and Hallmark movies.

Period movies like Pride and Prejudice, romantic comedies, musicals, and some dramas. I don't like war or horror movies.

I like handmade cards - atcs - anything handmade - vintage - flowers - butterflies - suncatchers - snowflakes - angels - Little Red Riding Hood - paper dolls - children - books - stickers - ribbons - buttons - scrapbooking stuff - postcards.

I like shades of most colors, but especially shades of blues and greens and most pinks.
