Verdigris

Recently we've had to move into a much smaller space, so I don't have access to most craft materials. I'm also finding that I need more organic, less restrictive crafts in my life. When something being 1/4 inch too short is that critical- it's really not for me. So, I'll be sticking with things that let me be a bit freer with sizing/shapes/colors/etc.

My favorite music: Gogol Bordello, Katzenjammer, Gypsy Kings, Pink Martini, The Penny Black Remedy, Mastadon, Violent Femmes, Gossip, Beth Ditto, Kathleen Hannah, Sleater-Kinney, Neil Young, Matt King, Sturgill Simpson, etc.

Most importantly- I like whatever you wish to send me. This list should not be taken as anything I "require" to be sent to me. If it's from the heart, I will love it.

I watch movies of all kinds but the quirkier the better. I am mad about antique keys. I love French things- music, food, cultural icons, and especially black and white images of Paris. My favorite flavors are coffee, chocolate, cherry, and coconut. My favorite color is green. Other than greens I tend to gravitate to purple as well as creams and other earth tones- if it's red I like rust, if it's blue I like slate. My favorite animal is the rat, favorite bird is the Raven, favorite insect? Probably butterfly.

I especially like reading modern fantasy and horror by authors like Neil Gaiman, Holly Black, and Stephen King. My current book is Crime and Punishment though, I don't tend to restrict myself to any one genre of literature.

If I had to choose an all time favorite book, simply for the impression it left on me, it would be "April Witch" by Majgull Axelsson. This is the passage I always seem to go back to: "I'd take one step backward and tip my head up so I could look him right in the eye. "Why did you make envy a sin, but not begrudging? It ought to be the other way around. It ought to be a greater sin to say don't let her have...! Than to say I want some too! Why should the have-nots, who have been denied everything, not even be allowed to want?"

It's a beautiful book.
