Hello fellow swappers!
I’m Anika and excited to be here on Swap-bot and reconnect with the world of swapping after quite a long break. My name is Anika, and I live in Germany, near Cologne, together with my two cats, who love to “help” with my creative projects (mostly by sitting on them, of course).
I first discovered rubber stamping as a teenager and absolutely loved it. Back then, I spent hours exploring different stamping techniques, creating cards, and experimenting with embossing powders. I participated in ATC swaps back in 2006, when they were still announced in printed rubber stamping magazines—those were the days! Does anybody here remember Heindesign from Germany? Their stamps were a big part of my early creative journey.
After a long break, I’m thrilled to dive back into the swapping community and surround myself with creative people again. I love getting inspired by different styles, materials, and techniques, and I can't wait to exchange art with fellow swappers.
My current creative passions include: Zentangle – I love the structured yet meditative approach of tangling and how it allows for endless variations. Gelli printing – I enjoy experimenting with layers, textures, and unexpected color blends. Rubber stamping – A passion from my teenage years that has stayed with me. Mixed media – I love combining different techniques, including stamping, collage, acrylics, and printmaking. When it comes to motifs and artistic style, I tend to prefer abstract, reduced designs rather than cute or overly decorative elements. I’m drawn to bold and minimalistic compositions, where shapes and textures take center stage. I also love typography, words, and text-based elements—whether it's vintage typewriter fonts, bold block lettering, or handwritten scripts, I enjoy incorporating words into my artwork.
My favorite colors are green and pink, but I also work a lot with neutrals like black, white, and gray. I like to explore how different colors interact, especially in layered mixed media projects. If I had to pick just two colors to use forever, it would definitely be green and pink!
I’m particularly interested in ATCs, postcards, washi tapes and other small-scale art swaps. I love the idea of exchanging unique little pieces of art and being surprised by other people's creative approaches.
Looking forward to swapping with like-minded creatives, discovering new techniques, and sending a little bit of art out into the world. Let’s create and connect—can’t wait to swap with you!
