Salutations!

I'm a 26 year old artist, animator, English teacher and storyteller with interests that spread far and wide. I went to school for animation and a little after graduating, worked as an English teacher in South Korea. It was suuuch a great experience- I plan to go back some day. The food. was. DELICIOUS. South Korea is also where I adopted the most handsome boy in the world. He is a Jindo mix that I named Ruka. And because I HAVE to tell you the story, here it is:

It's Christmas day and one of my coworker/friends and I decide to go to a dog cafe that we've visited a few times before. I've always wanted to adopt a dog and I go to see if it would be possible to adopt from them. There was a puppy in particular that would always come over and sleep either under my leg or next to my shoe. Well, we get there and, with my very limited Korean, I ask about adopting the puppy with his picture on the wall of new additions. The man who owns the cafe comes and we sit down outside the play area. I'm so nervous and not entirely sure whats happening. He gives me a form and looks at my Alien Registration Card- keep in mind, the whole time he is speaking Korean and I am doing my best to understand but I am a fish out of water here. In my mind- I'm thinking, 'okay, this is just to make sure I'm making a serious inquiry. Now I'll be able to see how much it costs to adopt him and I'll come back after I get my apartment ready for him!' The man asks which one and we go over the the gate to point at the little white puppy with floppy ears. He goes in and picks him up and brings him back to me. And then, in ENGLISH, he smiles and says "He's your dog now." My heart exploded! I was so happy but so taken aback! I had adopted him right there on the spot. I bought him a collar and the man was kind enough to give me a bowl and leash on the house. I was so so happy and even though I wasn't very prepared- I had my friend and a burning determination to do right by him and got my place together within that week. *(As an extra note, that big baby was too scared to move once we got outside so I had to carry him all the way back to my apartment- which was a 40min walk!) We're back home with my family in Alabama now while I get back on my feet and they have a boxer terrier mix. The two of them are just about inseparable. Anywho! Back to the main point of this haha. I have 3 ocarinas that I love to play- I find it so relaxing. My drawing skills aren't as good as they used to be since I didn't do much of that in Korea. I love both deep conversations that last for hours and fangirling about something I'm passionate about.

I like to study and read about new things and I'm currently interested in Chinese medicine, yoga and medication, psychology and how it relates to the days when we were cavemen. I'm teaching myself Korean now, and hope to conquer Japanese next, and maybe Chinese.

Right now I'm at a bit of a fork in the road when it comes to my future plans. Continue teaching? go back to animation? My main goal right now is to find something that can sustain me financially but more importantly something that will make me happy.

• My Dog- I'm not exactly sure what concoction he's made of but I've been told he looks like he has some shepherd/Akita/Husky in him
• Ghibli - I am a huuuge fan of all things Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki is my idol. I have a few of the DVDs, a deck of cards with artwork from some of the movies, a mini Totoro keychain and a Totoro Crystal charm
• Crystals and Gems - I'm into the whole healing energies thing.
