I am a wife and mother of a 22 year old son. I retired at the end of December 2011 from my 31+ year career as a kindergarten teacher. I am an avid animal lover. I own 2 miniature dachshunds(weiner dogs) but we are looking to add a Labrador retriever to the family. My favorite animals are horses, dogs, koalas, rhino, lions and giraffes. I enjoy traveling and just came back from 5 weeks in South Africa where I spent a month working on a game reserve!! What an amazing experience!!

I don't really have a favorite music type. If a rythm or beat appeals to me, then it doesn't really matter if it's country, rock, or whatever. I do like to listen to Jack Johnson, TransSiberian Orchestra, Johnny Clegg, Black Eyed Peas and Michael Jackson.

I love to read whether it be a magazine, a book, a newspaper or articles online. I am currently reading The Hunger Games. I enjoy books written by Jodi Picoult and books about travel.

My favorite movie of all time is Wizard of Oz. recently I saw War Horse and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Help is another great movie! All Disney flicks take me back to my childhood and I think are wonderful movies for all age groups.

I love to watch I Love Lucy reruns and DVDs. My favorite series currently is Criminal Minds. I loved the LOST series and really miss it! I watch home shows(House Hunters etc) as well as TLC reality shows. I also enjoy Canadian Pickers. Another great all time series was Seinfeld.

As a child and then as a teacher, I always enjoyed crafts. But I found my job and other responsibilities never left me enough time to create. So since retiring, I have taken an interest in scrapbooking, junk journals, ATCs, photography and collecting things to get started. I want to participate in swaps as much as I can to meet new people and gain new ideas in a variety of mediums. Love the look of a great steampunk or vintage smash/junk journal or album.

My favorite sports team is the Toronto Maple Leafs. For those that don't know, that's an NHL hockey team. I was raised a Leaf fan as my mom's cousin was once the captain-George Armstrong. So despite their dismal showings these past few years, I remain a die hard, true fan! I am a collector of anything TML!!! My personal favorite sport to participate in s horseback riding. I recently started taking lessons again after 20 years away from the show jumping ring so that has been exciting!!

-anything coconut smelling or tasting -horses, dachshunds, labs, koalas, rhinos, cheetahs-okay, almost any animal!! -embellishments -journalling tags -the smell of a new baby(baby powder) -popcorn(I could live on the stuff!) -diet cherry 7 up -junk journals -learning how to scrapbook, alter etc..-especially love vintage ephemera -love old stuff..especially reminiscent of my childhood(50s and 60s) or way older than that!! -also love Mary Engelbreit and her great sayings/quotes -Steampunk -shabby chic look -love the Colours teal, eggshell/ivory, dusty rose/pink, light brown and pale green

I love Graphic 45-especially the ABC primer, Wizard of Oz, Curiosity Shoppe. I also like anything 7 Gypsies and Bo Bunny. Also, love October Afternoon...the Holiday Shoppe, Sidewalk collections. Any paper collections that have a retro feel or vintage look appeal to me. I have trouble finding these where I live....
