♫♪ in the jungle..

I am Hannah, often called Lioness. I am 20 years old and have been known to blow about like the wind, but I currently live in Colorado Springs, which is a very beautiful and inspiring place to be.

I'm a very eclectic person. I like so many different kinds of movies, music, art, and clothing that it might be easier to list what I don't like then what I do. n____n; I am very peaceful and try my best not to judge or harm anybody. I have been called gypsy, bohemian, hippie, and even occasionally goth.

I have a fascination with tattoos and tattoo art. That said, I don't have the money for my first one right now. :P

I enjoy adventures and can often be found just driving around with my camera and exploring.

I am a vegetarian - I do not eat meat or meat products. Dairy items are perfectly ok, and I am not allergic to any foods, dyes, etc.

creative habits

I'm lovesick over art and crafting with no hope of ever recovering - I have (fortunately) not yet found a cure. I am always making something or making something better/beautiful/customized/useful again.

Crochet --

I love crochet - I especially like to make toys (amigurumi). I also make small things like gloves, scarves, hats, etc.

yarnbomb

I recently discovered yarnbombing and I'm totally addicted. Have a look at the Goldfish Blog for yarnbombing exploits and photo updates.

I can be found on Ravelry under LionessRaawr.

Sculpting --

I absolutely adore Sculpey. I make beads and sculptures of all kinds of critters, although the oven being broken has really put a damper on my projects. :/ *sadface* While the little colored packs of clay are neat, I only use Super Sculpey, but I'm always looking for little beads or feathers and the like to use in sculptures.

Journaling & Collage --

I love journaling, art journaling, and collage, and tend to cram the three all together. Altering Composition books is a favorite and I always like to see what others have done in the way of customizing their own journals/books/etc.

I'm always on the lookout for materials for collage - especially magazines with great photos, like National Geographic. I also like stickers, markers, ink pens, and scrapbooking supplies.

Photography --

My camera is one of my dearest friends. I take pictures of many subjects - people, animals, country and urban landscapes, signs, and bridges. What I want to do is capture a point of view that is unique, not because it is crazy or very innovative, but because it is my own and nobody else has seen the world quite like anybody else has.

Dotee --

I've recently discovered Dotee Dolls - while they are interesting and rather freeing and fun to make.. where did the original creator's blog go? I was truly hoping to read it. D:

Anyway, Dotees. I really appreciate the whole "gift and trade but never, never sell" rule, and I'm excited to get the ball rolling on my collection - big, small, colorful, wild, conservative; I don't have any preferences yet, as I think they're all beautiful and somehow hold a piece of the spirit of the person who made them.

Painting --

Painting! I don't paint as much as I used to.. .. this is mostly due to budget. I'm trying to afford some good paint right now, but the employment situation is moving forward now, however slowly, so hopefully this will pick up in the next couple of months.

paints

music & movies

Music.. let's see.. I am open to all kinds of music. I think music is a beautiful creation and many, many people put their souls into it.

Generally, though, I prefer alternative, rock, soundtracks, and I really love anti-folk right now.

Some of my favorite singers/artists/bands are: Within Temptation, Kerli, Ludo, Kimya Dawson, Beck, David Bowie, Guess Who, Enya, Loreena McKennit, the Moody Blues, Queen, and Apocalyptica.

As for movies, a few of my favorites are: the Princess Bride, the Labyrinth, Alice in Wonderland (Disney's and many other versions), Dawn of the Dead, Beauty and the Beast, Fido, My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Red Riding Hood, and Kung Fu Panda.

If I had the money, I would absolutely be collecting Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks movies right now.

like & dislike

Things that I like:

  • Journals (especially handmade)
  • Anything writing/journaling related
  • Rainbows
  • I appreciate all colors, but especially love a nice darkish purple, darkish brown, grays, aqua, lime green, and sage green.
  • Recipes (especially for RAMEN, and I love soups)
  • Beads! Glass, wooden, bone, even the occasional plastic beads have their uses. Beads are beautiful.
  • Anything I can collage with
  • Interesting/old photographs, new photographs, your photographs.. show me the world.
  • Postcards great and small. If you have any that are vintage, risque, odd, or just plain non-tourist then I would love to do a private swap with you (naked, not postmarked, in an envelope so that I can get some variety to send out). Living in Colorado Springs makes it difficult to find postcards that aren't Colorado-related.
  • Bracelets (any color, shape, or material, I'm not picky!)
  • Owls
  • Cats
  • Steampunk
  • Anything with lace
  • Doggie treats/durable toys/etc
  • Kitty treats/toys/etc
  • Alice in Wonderland
  • Little Red Riding Hood
  • Sharpies of all colors
  • the American Pit Bull Terrier. I live with a sweetheart: Bodie Burrito!

the bode

Things that I don't like or can't use:

  • Make-up (excluding eyeliner & nail polish)
  • Children's craft sets/products
  • Toys made for small dogs or that are not durable - I have a Pibble and he is big.
  • Baby items - I don't have kids and I don't plan to.
  • Sport-related items; I am not interested.
  • Americana / items of patriotism
  • Religious items
  • Recipes for anything non-vegetarian
  • A lack of effort - why sign up if you don't care?

regarding extra gifts

Extras are NOT necessary with me - I will rate you a 5 if you swapped according to the guidelines and I will give you a heart if I especially like an item or if I can tell that you put a lot of effort into it. :)

That said, who minds extras? If you are looking to bribe me (wink wink), please consider Arizona Iced Tea Stix.. the Green Tea with Ginseng flavor is the best. ♥♥♥ *swoon* It is a lightweight item and can normally be found at your local Whatever-Mart next to the tea for between $2.00 and $3.00 USD.

Disclaimers

I do not smoke, nor does anyone in my household.

There are three dogs and two cats in my household. I will put 100% into ensuring that no hair is included in your package, but just be warned if you are allergic.

I am not allergic to any foods, dyes, etc.

I promise never to flake! If you don't receive one of my packages, please let me know and we can work something out.

Comment: Thank you for the cute card. It's different than the one I had and kept one like it for my collection. They're so interesting and cute.
Response: They are adorable, and I'm glad it wasn't the same card. I kept thinking, "How many jackalope postcards can there be in Colorado?"

Comment: Hiya! I love your suggestions, particularly the "What Someone's Mind Looks Like". I have been known to send postcards from my mental landscape. But also the puns, the songs, and I think "the secret lives of..." could keep me going indefinitely for inspiration :)

You have a very interesting profile! You seem to be very, very artistic (and I'm jealous about that, I'm not artistic at all :<). I'm also interested in tattoos and tattoo art, and I'm planning to get my first one this summer! I've also fallen in love with amigurumis, but can't make them myself, sadly. All and all, I really enjoyed reading through your profile, you seem very interesting! :) (Leave a Nice Comment! swap)

Hi Hannah! You must be pretty talented to be into sculpting, art journaling, and painting. The most I can do is sew. lol I've never heard of yarnbombing, though. I like to look at tattoos, but have none of my own either. (I'm your partner for the Leave a Nice Comment! swap)
