Hello there! I'm Michelle and I'm new to this party!

Guess I've always been a scrapbooker! I'm the one who still has her HS Yearbook/Photo album complete with pictures, napkins, pressed coursages, matchbook covers, etc. from Prom, Graduation, Friend's weddings, etc.

When I went to a Precious Memories party, I was hooked and have been Scrapbooking since 1998. That love developed in to creative cards, altering, ATC art, THoltz Tag Challenges and most recently "Mail Art". There's nothing like a jar of mod podge, a pretty magazine pics and an envelope to get my creative juices going.

I've learned a variety of techniques watching Youtube demos. I always wondered how these folks got into "swaps". Most were designers for various stores, products, etc., so I figured you had to be a "semi-pro". Then, someone mentioned "swap-bot" during their video, so I decided to try it out and join in on the fun.

I love getting packages in the mail and can't wait 'til I get my first.

Looking around the site, it appears as though my profile is a little thin, so here's more about me. What I like: I'm a closet "Victorian". Huh? "What on earth does that mean Michelle?" I love "shabby" and "lace", but in small doses. Love vintage pictures, but those statues missing arms are kind of scary. I'm intrigued by "Steampunk", but didn't know it existed until I tripped and found Tim Holtz -12 Days of Christmas in 2011. Had to go to Wikipedia to find out it was actual it's own genre. I love making and sending cards for holidays and special occasions and even share a card rack with a fellow crafter at a neighborhood pharmacy. Although I started this journey, "mad about scrapbooking", I fell of the wagon when my kiddo hit HS. I have a pile in a corner, determined to make her a personalized HS Years book. Wish me luck. Guess I like the ATC swaps, because I can feed my need to create, without committing to a daunting project.

Really enjoy Neo-Soul, Jazz, Latin Jazz, R&B and Pop. Favorite artists today: John Legend, Adele, Alicia Keys, Jill Scott.

Started reading Donna Leon mysteries featuring Guido Brunetti. Love getting a glimpse of Venice while the characters figure out the mystery.

Enjoy a good chick flick; 27 Dresses, Just Right, Devil Wears Prada, Bride Wars, Joy Luck Club and animated wonders like Princess and the Frog, The Incredibles, Meet the Robinsons, Lilo and Stitch, etc.

Downton Abbey, Bones, CSI, Criminal Minds, Scandal and the like.

Started "Paper Crafting" scrapbooking, but have moved into mini albums (tp roll, coffee sleeve, etc.) card making, mixed media art, mail art, art journaling, and altering anything that doesn't move.
