Hi! I’m Alice. I’m a French accountant living in Madrid (Spain) with my husband. In the “outside work hours” I love to craft, bake (give me any cake recipe and I’ll want to try to do it!), hike, travel, take pictures, send postcards… I’d love to have a campervan to travel even more, take even more pictures and send even more postcards…
I’m bilingual in French and Spanish, and I have a good level of English (there is always room for improvement when it’s not your mother language).
I don’t like (at all) to speak about myself online but I could write pages and pages on papers, I love snail mails, happy mails, pen pals… anything that can enter in my mailbox is welcome. There’s no better felling than the hope when you open your mailbox and the happiness when you see it full of friend’s letters.
I love anything related to paper: stationery, different papers, washi tapes, stickers, cards, stamps, envelopes… I can spend hours in conventional stationery shops or in online shops selecting what to buy (because I can’t buy all the shop…unfortunately!)
I’m not really good at designing and drawing but I really admire the persons that can draw or design their own stickers or stationary lines.
I don’t have any favorite style, but I don’t really like Disney, Pokémon, Harry Potter… or any specific character-based details. I’m more into natural, seasonal, travel or general topics.
I’m a big recycler of any paper related stuff… I do keep tons of “things” that may be reused in future projects even if I don’t know how at the time I keep it. I’m also a “re-gifter”: I can reuse something received in a swap to swap it with someone else… my idea is that if I can’t use it maybe someone else can use it better than me!
I’m also doing a bit of polymer clay and macrame when I find the time.
I’d only enter in a swap if I have time to do it and if I know I’ll be able to do it on time. I’d be happy to replace or resend any swap that was not received at first or lost (our post service is magical but even magic sometimes fail). So please just contact me if you have not received yours before rating. I always try to do my best and to send something I like, not by obligation. Feedbacks are welcome so I can improve my “swap skills”.
I do prefer handmade cards (to send and to receive) … except if it is a postcard swap or if requested in the swap.
I’m a tea/infusion addict… I could be drinking “hot water” all day long… vanilla is my favourite flavour but I like nearly* all of them! *The "nearly" is because I'm not a big fan of spiced tea (the typical Christmas one) so if I receive one I may pass it over... Or try it, depending on my mood this day ;)
My post service is slow so I wait at least 2 months before contacting my partner if I haven't received anything. I always assume that you've sent it and I won't rate 1 before checking with you.
I never fail a swap and if you contact me I'm happy to resend any swap that get lost in the mail.
Please, if possible, do not use bubble envelopes or hard card ones. I'd usually need to pay an extra fee for this kind of mail as it is considered package and they add border fees to them (even if you did the declaration at origine). I won't reject the mail coming with fee and I'll pay it... But if we can avoid it, it's better ;)
Update October 2024!! I have a new Po Box. Post service is getting slower where I live so be patient with my outgoing and also rating. I now took a PO box hopping it'll speed up the incoming process... Fingers crossed!
