Description:

I know it's a bit early but I figured I get a jump on a Halloween inchie swap.

For this swap you will make 10 Halloween themed inchies, 5 for each partner. How you decorate them is sender's choice but let's be as creative as we can. NO sticker slapping and calling it done. Use a variety of different materials. Let's aim for hearts from our partners. If you receive 5 inchies from a partner rate a 5. If you love the inchies and think they are creative, give a heart. :o)

Inchies are a 1"x1" work of art. They should be sturdy....thicker than paper. Think tissue boxes or cereal boxes.

Writing your info on the back is optional but be sure to include a note to tell which swap you are sending and give your username.

Minimum rating is 4.8. No recent 1's, or 3's. Please do not flake. Let's be fair. Although there is no good reason to be (because of how much time there is till the deadline), if you are going to be late, message your partner to let them know.

How do you display/store them? Do you combine them and make something? Hmmmmm...

swiftbrooks 07/17/2011 #

@northqueen I like like to use mine on cards and ATCs! However, some people use the coin collection pockets to store their trades in. Just personal preference!

And someone - Laura Aust - a SwapBot member made an amazing canvas of them line by line against a painted canvas that hangs on her wall. It is beautiful. You can probably go to her profile, then click on her Flickr link, if she has one. Eventually I hope to do that.

Some people attach magnets to the back and hang them on a magnetic board. There's so many different ways to display them. :o)

I finished mine today, and made matchbook type holders for them. The photo is on my Flickr if anyone wants to peek. The link is on my profile. These are so fun and addicting to make!!!

Have never done an "inchie" but the photos I have seen are sooo cute. Are the five inchies you send different or the same? Please advise. Thanks!

They are all different, Futters. You can see the ones I made for this swap on my Flickr. The link is on my profile. :)

Oops! I may have misunderstood your question, Futters.... If you meant whether you can send the same (or very closely the same) set of inchies to partner #1 as you do to partner #2, then yes, you can do that. Either way - the same or different - is fine.

Thank you Wanda!

Yes, I am "LauraAust" and I am addicted to inchies! My two canvases are on my profile page - I have more inchies to glue to my second canvas and then I think it will be CLOSE to being filled! And... I love Halloween!!!!

I'm so happy that everyone is super excited about this swap. I am as well. :o)

Just posted my first 5 on my Flikr page....I was in a group where we made "inchie quilts"....adhered 9 inches to heavy chip or cardboard, makes a 3x3 "quilt! I think I might host one for a swap :)

I'm so glad you guys shared Flikr pictures, this looks like so much fun!

Leashah 08/19/2011 #

This should be a type 3 swap, due to the creating of the inchie art. :)

I would love to join this swap, I have been scrapbooking and card making for over 8 years, making inchies and love them! I just joined swap bot and not allowed to join this one, is there some way I could talk to Karen? I would love to do this, I just bought some cute halloween stamps and already making some, I would love to share!

Wanda 08/22/2011 #

kewlmom, maybe you already contacted Karen, but if not, you can click on her name, go to her profile page and "Send Message" from there. There are other inchie swaps going on too, including at least one Halloween one that is accepting unrated swappers. You can find them by clicking "Find Swaps" from the top right of this page. From there you type in what you are looking for. Happy swapping! :)
