Description:

I recently found a tutorial for a paper bag journal so I made one. The pages are perfect to paint on. There's also little pockets to hide things in. For this swap you will art journal on 5 paper bags, folded in half. The photo above only has plain paper in the middle. We want to only use Paper Bags only. Paint, draw, doodle, mixed media..Whatever! How you choose to art journal is completely up to you, the artist. Just fill it up with bright colors and interesting things. Don't forget to decorate the front! You will have 1 partner and 1 month to complete and ship out. Have fun.

    :::::::Requirements:::::::

At lease a 4.9 rating, no recent 1's or 3's. You :MUST: have 5 type 3 swaps under your belt. I will check every profile before assigning partners..yada yada yada

     :::Instructions:::

Fold 5 small brown paper bags in half. Put them together and staple in the middle. Add a card stock cover and decorate the front. You'll have a total of 10 pages to art journal. Stuff little surprises in the pockets if you like. Most importantly, just have fun.

Or

Follow this tutorial but make sure there are a total of 10 pages. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOPUqxXlPSg

Can we see the tutorial?

CraftySenorita 04/24/2011 #

Yes but my idea isn't exactly like the tutorial. My way is as simple as folding the bags slap down the middle and stapling. You can follow the tutorial or do my way, as long as there are 10 pages. Here it is!

wow nice video.....I actually did glue it like she did in the video. Are you alternating the bags so there is not a kind of bunch up? I didnt like the way it looked....I will try that...or do you have pictures of ones you have made? Can you share? I am a book nut....love books. all kinds.... Thanks!!

CraftySenorita 04/25/2011 #

Two of these swaps & neither international? Postage wouldn't be a lot. Why the regional stipulation? We have paper bags too. :)

CraftySenorita 04/25/2011 #

Lol!!! Ok I'll make an international one when I get off from work. That was my next swap. I needed my rest last night for work and only had time to put the regional swap.

Side note: please remember that this is an Art Journal swap, not a scrapbook swap. You can glue things in but please also include some of your own art.

I spent waaaaaaay too much time yesterday making a bunch of these. And I stitched the bags together. I don't have a stapler at home that could reach to the middle of the bags.

lol I had the same problem. I kind of bunched the pages up so I could reach the middle. Then I closed the book, and laid something heavy on top for a day to get the pages flat again.

Here's 1 page that I finished. Someone asked if I had a pic that I could share, so here it is.
