Description:

This is the writing swap where not only is plagiarism allowed, it is required. Ok, not really since we are giving the authors credit but here's the idea.

We all have lines/phrases from poems, songs or books that really stick out to us. I constantly find myself going, why can't I come up with a metaphor like that?

For this swap you are to create a poem with at least 7 lines/phrases taken from other sources. Your poem can be simply a mash-up of these lines or you can incorporate them into a larger piece. In order to make this easier for you reader please keep all your original words in standard font and those "stolen" in bold-face. Then at the bottom of the work you will list the sources.

For example:

In the beginning was the word But it was neither seen nor heard It rattled around in the thoughts of man The sound of silence was louder than planned

Sources: The Bible, John 1:1 "The Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel

You will have two email partners for this swap.

Great idea! I'm watching for now, not sure yet what madness mid-April might bring! :-)
