Description:

We all have an album that really had a big effect on us in our lives. When I was a kid it was probably Michael Jackson's Bad album. It's such a great album.

This picture is of a comic cover. But pretend it's you holding your fav album and how it blew your mind.

anti-capitalists and drag queens should join my group

For this swap you will have 2 partners. You will send each partner TWO CDS.

CD 1: Will be a full album from a band. (i.e. Cyndi Lauper's "She's so Unusual"...The Beatles' "The White Album"...Nirvana's "Nevermind")

CD 2:Will be a mix CD of all kinds of music from different bands that have changed your life

These will NOT be shopped bought albums. Just burnt CD-Rs burnt from your PC. no copyrighted music blah blah blah xcept for Creative Commons. if you have any questions wondering about whats copyright and what's not just PM me. unless you just want to break the rules. i'm not encouraging you to. you're going to do it if you want to. i can't stop you.

CD 1 is your choice. for CD 2, it's still your choice, but you have to read your partners profiles, look at their music tastes and try and put music on your MIX CD that you hope their going to love. like if your partner loves Britney, don't send her Metallica. try and find something similar you think they may like.

Questions and comments welcome below

Newbies welcome with FULLY filled out profiles. 4.9 rating at least. I reserve the right to ban anyone. Flakers fuck off away from this swap. Anyone who seems flakey, get lost. I'm so sick of flakers. blah blah blah

I didn't think Swapbot allowed mixed CD's anymore?

AndrewLips 04/ 3/2011 #

yep. as long as it's not got any copyrighted music on it.

BudgieFresnell 04/ 3/2011 #

Isn't most music copyrighted? :S There was a site you can get copyrighted music from legally but I can't remember where. Any ideas? Xx

Lots of music isn't copyrighted. Bands demos, creative commons . i really wanted to avoid another one of these talks. demos from bands are not copyrighted, unless officially released (i.e. deluxe edition bonus cds), so people can use them if they want. also every song on rcrdlbl.com is free for download. it's songs that the artist and record labels have picked to be given away for free as a way to get their music out there.

basically like 98% of bands I listen to don't use copyright. I really could list a ton. For example, all the bands on Plan-it-X Records don't use copyright.

OK...good to know...thanks!

This sounds fun. But none of my fav stuff is non copyrighted.

@BudgieFresnell http://www.archive.org/details/netlabels is a good collection music you can distribute freely.

According to their page: "These 'netlabels' are non-profit, community-built entities dedicated to providing high quality, non-commercial, freely distributable MP3/OGG-format music for online download in a multitude of genres."

I'm not sure if anyone would find their favorite music growing up on here, but.. it's worth a shot looking through the list, maybe?
