Back by popular demand!

You will draw a doodle in each square for 30 days, from left to right. I recommend putting "1st-7th" down the side of the first set of boxes, "8th-14th" down the next set...It can represent your feelings or just a 'feel-like-it' doodle BUT they must include an object/symbol. Try mixing up the times you draw them (a doodle as you wake up, a doodle after supper, or a doodle before bedtime, even a doodle after you read a good book)!

You will start doodling on March 15th and finish April 15th. After partners are assigned, you have five days to send your sheet.

SUMMARY

  1. Consecutively draw objects or symbols every day for 30 days. They can be black and white or colored.
  2. Mail them to your partner with 5 days of being assigned.

Have fun!

Newbies welcome but no recent unexplained 1s or 3s.

Get the doodle sheet here.

I have a question... Should the paper be flat when we send it, or can it be folded...or cut into individual days or weeks?

mb58ca 02/28/2011 #

@Leashah The sheet must be flat; do not cut into days or weeks.

EffiG 03/ 1/2011 #

My printer is on the fritz, is it possible to draw up a table or must it be with the supplied template?

camelsamba 03/ 1/2011 #

The sheet has to be flat - it can't be folded? Why is that?

I ask because sending that resriction changes a 44 cent envelope into a flat/large envelope and doubles the postage domestically (although it only increases it by ~25c internationally - a bargain for a change!). Also, because I've been carrying around the sheet for swap #1 in a folded condition!

mb58ca 03/ 1/2011 #

@camelsamba Yes, it can definitely be folded. I was referring to the fact that the boxes are not to be cut into days and/or weeks (i.e. like loose stickers). I hope that clears it up.

gewalli 03/ 1/2011 #

I don't really understand... It says that we have 5 days to send after partners are assigned. But isn't the partners assigned in march when the sign up deadline is? Or are partners assigned later and if so, when?

Leashah 03/ 1/2011 #

Thanks, @StickerLady :)

TC 03/ 1/2011 #

I think you need to edit the send-by date to April 20?

mb58ca 03/ 2/2011 #

@effiG I'd rather the sheet be printed out. Is there a library or some place nearby where you can print it? If not, you can draw up a table but make sure each box measures 1.5x1.5. Later, you can pm your partner and explain your situation.

@gewalli The partners will be assigned March 15. That's when you start doodling for 30 days until April 15. You have five days to send out the completed sheet.

@TC Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy.

institches 03/ 2/2011 #

This is a really fun idea! Question: do the days have to be drawings? Can we add fabrics, yarns or things like that along with the drawings?

mb58ca 03/ 2/2011 #

@institches No 'additions' for this one. Just drawings.

Chinnu 03/ 3/2011 #

Oh this is so much fun. Am a newbie so please tolerate a couple of clarification questions: 1. So its ok to fold up the sheets (say along the grid lines) to fit into a standard postal envelope? 2. Include an object or symbol means? 3. Is it possible to share a completed sheet u made/received, i would love to see, so that i know what am doing. Thanks in advance. Cheers!

mb58ca 03/ 3/2011 #

@Chinnu Answers:

  1. Yes, folded on/between the grid lines to fit inside an envelope.
  2. It must include objects or symbols like lightning bolts, circles, triangles, houses...
  3. I'll upload it shortly...
Chinnu 03/ 3/2011 #

Thanks a lot and am all game for this. Am traveling between 14/04 till 24/04....i will have to try my best to post it before the deadline. Am eagerly waiting to see the doodle sheet you upload. Cheers!!

KristinaLynn 03/ 7/2011 #

Is it okay if I don't mark the dates on the sheet and just fill the squares in? I've a little bit of OCD and it just looks neater without it to me.

mb58ca 03/ 7/2011 #

@KristinaLynn Sure, just make sure there's 30 squares filled in.

KristinaLynn 03/ 7/2011 #

thank you, kindly!

LizzyJo 03/ 9/2011 #

Would it be ok to doodle in the spaces between the boxes?

mb58ca 03/ 9/2011 #

@LizzyJo An intriguing question and a definite answer: absolutely! Thanks for bringing it up.

Chinnu 03/10/2011 #

@ StickerLady, I understand it takes efforts to post a picture of a finished page. How about you look at a couple of my doodled ATCs on flickr and lemme know if it stands up the expectations here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lakshmianand11/5505733333/

Am all set for the swap...but just confirming as i don't want to disappoint my partner. Thanks in advance.

mb58ca 03/13/2011 #

@Chinnu Oh my gosh! Yes, if you'd like to do them like that, go for it! Mine were so basic and juvenile compared to those I've seen so far .

Gofeen 03/14/2011 #

I'm going to sign up but I really hope my partner doesn't fold the sheet. I don't understand why people would want to devalue or mess up their work for the sake of a few extra cents or pennies depending where you are. I'm not in anyway demanding this, just asking. I won't fold mine even though it's coming from U.K.

meej 03/15/2011 #

I feel like I'm going crazy... I know I clicked on the link for the doodle boxes before, but now I can't find it... Am I just blind today?

maciemcgowan 03/15/2011 #

@meej same here!

TC 03/15/2011 #

Host has posted this on her other 30-Day doodle swap:
"NOTE: There's a glitch on my website. Please email me ([email protected]) for the doodle sheet. I will attach it."

Chinnu 03/16/2011 #

@StickerLady ..Thanks that's quite encouraging. Off-late been practicing Zentangles so seriously that my doodles automatically look like Zentangles..hahaha!!..hopefully my partner wouldn't mind.

mb58ca 03/16/2011 #

Links should be working now...

Yasemin 03/22/2011 #

I love this swap! I'm a newbie and unfortunately I'm late for this one. Is it going to be a similar swap soon?

mb58ca 03/22/2011 #

There will be one on April 1. Stay tuned.

Gofeen 03/25/2011 #

is it O.k. to doodle in the 5 extra boxes. I've already done that. I should have checked first.

mb58ca 03/27/2011 #

@Gofeen Sure, no problem! Glad you're enjoying them.
