Nickel Charm Packs R#4

3-14-11 thru 4-22-11

GREEN base color.

Nickel Charm Packs: twelve 5” charms in coordinating colors and prints

You will send 2 partners one Nickel Charm Pack each in Green print fabrics.

Step 1: Pick the Green base color print and at least 2 other prints that coordinate with it. Example: say your green base print has pink and yellow flowers with blue ribbons; find a pink print to match the shade of pink, a yellow print to match the yellow and possibly a blue print to match the ribbons

Step 2: Cut twelve 5” charms from those 3-4 fabrics, arrange the charms in a tempting package like you might see displayed at the fabric shops, stick a note in with the charms stating the swap name, and your name and send it off to your partners.

In each charm pack you may send more than 3 different coordinating prints cut in any combination as long as you send 12 charms in each Nickel Charm pack. (Example: 4 green print, 4 pink, 2 yellow, and 2 blue) Please no solid fabrics, but you may send tone-on-tone prints.

You may send each partner duplicate Nickel Charm Packs.

Questions and concerns are always welcome.

I will angel this swap but will publicize if you flake.

Next month our Nickel Charm Packs will be black/white print with any accent color for our base color print. State your accent color in comments below.

I would like light blue.

Will we have the same partners, as the last swap with the red base, or will we be assigned new ones?

perkl8r 03/ 1/2011 #

new partners....well, actually you could end up with the same partner as last time,....it's all up to the swap-bot computer......I tell it to assign partners and it does but that's all the say any host has in that process

1leemeadows, did you have problems the last time?

1leemeadows 03/ 1/2011 #

No, I did not have any problems. I liked and enjoyed both of my partners, that I sent my charm packs to. I understand about a computer assigning partners, who knows how that will fly. Thanks for your quick response to my question.

glad things went well for you last time, and so happy you joined again this time!

---I have had the same partner for multiple rounds on some swaps before.......it's fine, but sometimes you want something with a different twist to it from someone new....

perkl8r 03/ 2/2011 #

wait....I don't see your name on the sign-up....maybe you're just watching......hope you decide to join! thanks 1leemeadows

1leemeadows 03/ 2/2011 #

Oh, yes, I'm joining! Already have plans for these 5" squares. Just forgot to hit the right button.

what is a nickel swap but i dont understand it thanks

beancounter17 03/10/2011 #

@perkl8r hey are you getting tired of me as a partner?? LOL. Guess that means that we both have great taste!!

perkl8r 03/11/2011 #

catchahug.....a nickel charm pack is just another way of saying a swap for 5" fabric charms........when we put them in a "pack" that means they go together - coordinate or accent each other. Please let me know if you have any other questions as I'll be glad to help.

perkl8r 03/11/2011 #

beanie.....can't ever imagine getting tired of having you as a partner!

angeleyes79 03/14/2011 #

can someone post a picture of an example of what these are please?

perkl8r 03/14/2011 #

wow, I'm sorry -angeleyes79- but I do not have access to the tools to post a picture here but maybe I can explain a little more and that might help you

just think about a piece of green print 100% cotton fabric cut into 5 inch by 5 inch (called a charm)pieces..... then pick another print that coordinates with the green and cut it into 5"X5" charms, and then a third print do the same...until you have at least 12 5"X5" charms.....you can tie them together with a ribbon and, put them in a zippy bag, or maybe attach a large coordinating button to the stack .....to make your "pack".....

I hope this helps

i don't care what my accent colour is the black/white swap, if you have purple that's extra great if not, just whatever :)

Accent color for Black & White charms, 1. Red, is nice 2. Taxi Yellow, is great 3. Your favorite color, would be wonderful
