PIMP MY POSTCARD
Swap Coordinator:wackystuff (contact)
Swap categories: Challenges  Art  Postcards
Number of people in swap:10
Location:Other
Type:None
Last day to signup/drop:October 1, 2007
Date items must be sent by:October 22, 2007
Number of swap partners:4
Description:

Take some 4 x 6 inch postcards and trick them out by drawing, painting or collaging stuff on top. We are talking wit and sarcasm here, not making ugly cards pretty. Cheesy tourist cards or free advertising cards work well for this. There is something satisfying and transgressive about messing with real (store bought) postcards and turning them into something badass, new and fresh.

  • Pimp one original card for 4 partners, no copies please.
  • This is an international swap.
  • Please put your screen name and swap title on the back.

  • It is hard to show examples of "pimped" in the tiny space above, so I have put some on my blog.
  • These were made for other swaps but you can get an idea of what my cards look like.
  • Of course I hope yours don't look anything like mine! LOL

This looks like fun, and something I can accomplish with my limited artistic talent. Will it be OK to mail them in an envelope if it looks like they might not survive the journey? The ones on your blog are great!

Thanks, Mary aka tobiejonzarelli

Good question tobiejonzarelli. You can send your card in an envelope if you want to give it a little more protection. Normally I send my postcards "naked", but I see this swap more as artwork than postcards.

That's what we like to see Crystal Y, some excited artists around here. :) My cards are going to the Post Office tomorrow.

I have received cards from all my partners. How about you? Is everybody happy?
