Description:

As the title suggests, this shall be a ribbon swap.

I just lost almost all my ribbons, all I can think is I have packaged them up and sent them off to a lovely swap bot swapper.

So I need some new ribbons. We shall have 2 partners, and send them a decent selection of ribbons. Send each partner about 4 metres combined, with a minimum of 4 differant ribbons. Please make your ribbon pieces at least 1/4 of a metre long, most people have no use for tiny pieces :)

This is an international swap, I would love ribbons from other countrys!

Must have a rating of 4.6 or above, newbies must email me upon joining or risk been banned.

Hi, Is there a minimum ribbon length for this? I don't mind short-ish lengths, but i'm not sure i'd be able to find a use for really tiny bits. :)

cookiebear 09/16/2007 #

To comment in the same vein as alice-palace --- ribbon lengths of a quarter meter(9-10inches) or more, will be great for me. Fabric or paper, but not the traditional gift-wrap type, please. Thankyou kindly. :o)

Send each partner about 4 metres combined, with a minimum of 4 different ribbons.

I would think at least half a meter each piece.

I know Clare is really upset about this swap as she has "lost" all her ribbons and she had quite a large collection some really nice so the idea is she may get some back!

Hope this helps everyone.

or even better as cookie bear suggests 1/4 meter would ususally be ok for card makers and atc's I think any usable size would be acceptable!

ClareyFairy 09/17/2007 #

Yes guys, at least a 1/4 of a metre, I will amend the description to include that!

alicepalace 09/17/2007 #

Cool! Except, um, you've put 1/4 of an inch! :)

ClareyFairy 09/17/2007 #

OMG! lol I don't know where that came from! It's 1/4 of a metre!

Silly me! Amended once again to show the correct measurement!

I love ribbons. I agree with cookiebear - just fabric or paper for me. I don't need giftwrap type of ribbon. I'll just put that in my profile and hope my partners see it! So sorry about your ribbons. That would make me sad ... Susan

i also love ribbons , but beautiful ones , i can use for my scrapbooking .

ciyou 10/11/2007 #

if i sent 1/4 meter for 1 type of ribbon, does it mean I need to sent 16 different types of ribbon? am I correct?

ClareyFairy 10/14/2007 #

That would be correct Ciyou as 16 1/4 of a meters would make 4 meters

paulavelosa 10/17/2007 #

I'll send 4 x 1 meter... I made allready my selection... And I love them!

caracois 10/17/2007 #

Hi, I keep asking this all of the time when I joined a ribbon swap. Since I'm from the US what exactly is a metre?

comearoundruby 10/18/2007 #

catlover, a meter is just a little bit longer than a yard. (i'm american too, but http://www.onlineconversion.com/length_common.htm is my best friend!)

and to whomever my partner might be: i make very small dolls and actually do have a use for tiny bits of ribbon (say 10ish or 15ish centimeters or so.) i wouldn't mind at all getting lots of tiny pieces instead of four longer ones!

TheFrOgQueEn 10/18/2007 #

Ruby.. I would LOVE to see these dolls. Must be VERY small if only using under 15cm.

well, i usually just use the ribbon for trims here and there. sometimes skirts if it's a wide enough ribbon and wired (wired ribbon gathers beautifully!)

ClareyFairy 10/19/2007 #

WOW those dolls are beautiful, you are one talented lady

comearoundruby 10/19/2007 #

thank you so much ClareyFairy!

MamaBowers 10/19/2007 #

Yay! I love ribbons and can't stop buying them so I would love to share! and I too really would only use fabric (though i am not sure what paper ribbons are they sound interesting!)

mili 10/21/2007 #

I love fabric ribbons and don't like giftwrap type.

princezna 10/21/2007 #

I can use even 30 cm long (12") because I love scrapbooking and that's how big the pages are but I can find use for smaller ones as well. It's hard to get wired ribbons in my country so it would be nice to receive some of those :) Can't wait!

ritakatita 10/27/2007 #

I don't like giftwrap type too!
