Description:

I just loved the Photo Inchies swap that Beckra just hosted and I want more! So this swap is for 1" x 1" square photos however you want to do it. You can reduce your photos (the image here is what I sent for Beckra's swap) or you can cut up a larger photo (which is what I plan to do this time). Can be digitally altered (which is my favorite) or just as it comes from the camera. Its up to you as long as its your photo.

This is international. You will have 3 partners and you will send 8 inchies each (more if your looking for hearts). The completed size must be 1" x 1" and backed with cardstock for sturdiness. Any questions please ask!

Anyone with a rating less than 4.5 please message me BEFORE you join. New swappers are welcome, but you MUST have your profile filled out and you must contact me BEFORE you sign up. Swappers with multiple no sends, blank profiles, or less then a 4.5 when the swap starts will be dropped.

Thanks for looking and Happy Swapping!

ok, do you put your pic or whatever on a backing of some type? do you put a magnet on it? a push pin? what do you DO with these? :-D

susiqz 09/14/2007 #

Photo inchies are 1" x 1" backed with cardstock. What the recipient does when they get them is up to them. Magnets, push pins are all good ideas. What I have done is mount them on 8.5 x 11 and frame. Its up to you! Thanks for asking

So are the inchies individual pieces?

On your picture, it looks like they were all adhered to one sheet to create a single piece of art.

Thanks in advance for the explanation.

Susan

Yes qmock- actually they are all seperate, its just the way I shipped them to my partner. Its a presentation folder that they use for stamps. I hope this makes it clearer.

I loved the inchies I rec'd from you in the last swap so I"m definitely in this one:) I'll have to be sure if I get a repeat partner that I don't send the same ones out...I have tons of duplicates from the first....so much fun...thanks for hosting another.

I don't make a lot of handmade greeting cards but I would imagine using these on the front of a greeting card (blank inside) would be a great use of these.

Not to sound like a commercial, but Ranger is coming out with frames and glass for 1" art - great for a pendant or even a charm bracelet, maybe a pin? Frame them mounted, or on a card, postcard, etc. Whatever you can do with a regular size photo you can do more with these! Have fun with them~ susi ps - once you start you won't be able to stop!

Can you have these 1 x 1 photos printed commercially? If so any helpful instructions for me? I don't like to print photos on my home printer, they just don't look as good. Guess I could just take a photo, digitally alter it then cut it up. Kind of like the idea of a completer phot in the tiny size though thanks

susiqz 10/ 9/2007 #

cindynvb - if you have a photo editing program, try taking your photos and shrinking them to 1", then insert to a 4"x6" "photo" opening and save it. Then if you upload the new "photo" to a photo co such as shutterfly, they will print them out as a 4x6. Then you could cut those up and get your inchies. Not sure if this is clear... If you can't do that, the best bet would be to just cut up your photos - which really cool too! Try it - you'll like it! susi

So you just glue your photo paper onto cardstock afterwards?

susiqz 10/13/2007 #

rintheamazing, you can either do it before or after you cut them up. You can cut to the exact size or a little smaller and have a "border". Up to you! susiqz

I work in a photo lab and want to let you know you can easily make 1" prints on a little machine I love to play with [found at places like your local sooper market, Wal~mart, kmart, any drug store like walgreens..ect]Called the KODAK PICTURE MAKER you can scan in your pictures or use any form of digital media like camera card or CD, the setting for ID photos will let you print 24-1"s of either the same photo or all different images Enjoy....Hint an Index print, prints tiny pictures that are great to ad in charms or added to craft items
