Description:

One Partner, One Handmade Pendulum Created for your partner.

This is something completely new and intriguing for me - PENDULUMS and their use. Pendulums are made from a variety of materials including crystals, wood, glass, and metals. They are often used as tools for spiritual healing and inner growth.

Noel, I don't know if there are any specific rules, but if someone can give us some direction that would be great. Try http://healing.about.com/cs/tools/ht/How_pendulums.htm

I made gifts a couple of Yule's back that "I" called prayer beads (like rosary beads), but I think the technique would work similarly for pendulums (just a bit narrower).

I made "keyrings" with macramed jute and wooden beads. The "keyring part" was a purchased lobster claw & split ring. Then I worked the jute to about one inch wide "knot work" with 1/2" beads centered along its length and a tassle at the end. The beads were all different shapes/textures (so I could use it in the dark!) and the bead colors corresponded to Goddess (white), God (black), Earth (green), Air (yellow), Fire (red), Water (blue), with a clear glass bead with rainbow swirl inside for Spirit. My friends loved them!

If the macrame knot work were done more narrow (1/4" ??) in "shiny/sparkly" yarn/thread or even fine wire, instead of jute, and the beads were "glass" or "crystaline" or "jewel" types, I can see this being a great pendulum.

From what I'm seeing at the link, there's a "hand grip" (large object) at one end and a "pointer" (pyrmidal) at the other end. What is between would be up to the maker/user's imagination, right?

I made mine and hope I did it right but not real sure! I thought it turned out good and so did my mom!

I really think the interpretation is all up to the maker - whatever feels right to you. Ive seen several different types from someones necklace to an actual pendulum made of stone, metal and more. Make it the way it feels right to you and then let the one who receives it bond with it ! Hope that helps, Jo

I have seen the made of almost everything, the one I use is simple crystal on a gold chain, but even a thread and a pebble will work. The best known ones are the wedding ring and thread used to tell if the expected child is a boy or a girl.
