Description:

Though I have a ton of food recipes, I'm always looking for more natural recipes for non-food items, like baby shampoo, face masks, kids art supplies, cleaning products, etc. For this swap, we will send our partners 3 different recipes along these lines.

The recipes should NOT be for edible main courses, side dishes, cakes, breads, pies, cookies, cupcakes, or other desserts. Choose recipes for other things in or around the home that we can make ourselves.

Some suggestions for "odds & ends" recipes are:

  • bath/body items such as sugar scrubs or face masks

  • craft-related items such as home-made adhesive for stamps, home-made silly putty, play-doh, glue, bubbles or other kids supplies

  • pet food & dog/cat treats

  • home-made alternatives to store-bought products

  • natural/cleaning supplies, stain removers, etc.

  • drink mixes, like flavored coffees, specialty cocoas that would make good gifts, but not the drink recipes themselves

If you have other ideas, please PM me or post in the comments section (as long as the recipes are along the non-edible guidelines).

We'll each have 2 partners, making it 6 sent & 6 received recipes. You can send the same 3 recipes to both partners if you choose. Recipes can be typed or hand-written, but must be on cards or similar form. (4x6" or 3x5" recipe cards, or same sizes if printed from your computer.)

Try not to send recipes that require any special equipment or items that are too difficult to find. If something out of the ordinary is required, please include at least 1 source where it can be found. Don't forget to put the swap name & your name/user name in the envelope as well. This swap is international, so you might receive a recipe in metric or opposite if outside the US. There are plenty of online conversion sources, so I don't think its a problem.

Open to all members in good standing with no 1's, 3's or no-sends in the last month. Newbies with a completely filled-out profile are welcome to join. I reserve the right to ban any questionable swappers. PM me with any questions!!

do you mean for "drink mixes" recipes like for large quantity jar mix recipes for gifts?

iLoveMail 09/27/2010 #

Yes, @128julie any drink mix (I'm thinking powdered). I have also seen recipes similar to Int'l Coffees - the ones in the rectangular tins.
