Made the daily library run and scored a tiny book on witty epitaphs: Comic Epitaphs: From the very best old graveyards, gathered and published by the Peter Pauper Press.

Some are flat out silly:

Regretted by all who never knew him.

Some take a little brain work:

To the memory of Abraham Beaulieu

Accidentally shot April 1844:

As a mark of affection from his brother.

Some you can only laugh at:

Here lies my wife in earthly mould

Who when she lived did naught but scold

Good friends go softly in your walking

Lest she should wake and rise up talking.
