Photo Class - portraits

No, I won't be teaching a photo class. I am nowhere NEAR qualified for that. However, last year I took a class at our local photography school and I am basing this swap (and possibly future swaps) a wee bit on how our assignments would work there.

For this swap you will be sharing three portraits that you've taken with one partner. They do not have to be of the same person. They also can be any that you have in your collection, not just recent shots.

You will rate your 3 photos into the following categories

1. One photograph will be a "keeper". This means it's the really good shot. The one that would be worth framing.
2. One will just be average. This would be the one that's just okay. A snapshot quality perhaps.
3. One will be "if only". Basically, this is a shot that COULD be good "if only"... and you fill in the blank. Perhaps "if only I had used a fill flash" or "if only I'd zoomed in more" or "if only that tree weren't in the background".

You will print up the three pictures and make sure your partner knows which you feel is which. (In our class we did this for each other but for this swap you'll be critiquing/praising your OWN shots.) Either write it on the back of the photos or include a note.
