Description:

After much research I've discovered that this stands for something like Artist Trade Card.

If this struck you as blindingly obvious this swap is maybe not for you! But if you haven't created one of these before or have only just begun this swap IS for you!

Each participant makes 3 cards 2.5" by 3.5" in size. They mail one card to each of their three partners. Value isn't important but each card must be less than 5mm in thickness to avoid getting caught by the UK's new weird postage rules (guess which country I'm in!). You can find more information about how ATCs started and examples of cards here: http://www.cndcountrygifts.com/ATC.html

This swap is open to everyone all over the world although people with bad ratings will not be allowed to take part.

Oh this is EXACTLY what I need! I want so much to try these ATC's but was nervous to jump in as a beginner! Great idea this swap. LOL at the 5mm thickness thing... I am UK too... fun new regulations eh I have put that leaflet of explaination on my desk for reference I can just imagine this over the Christmas card rush period at the PO!? Who came up with something so utterly daft anyway!? :0)

This is just what I need to get my feet wet!!! I was always afraid to sign up for the others because I don't know exactly what I am doing..but this will give me a chance to try and to actually see anothers work!! Thank you!!!

I ended up making my first one of these last night and had a great time! I'm really excited to see what others come up with. Am really pleased so many people have joined up :)

This sounds great. like everyone here, I've wanted to do something like this, but am a beginner! I'm in Ireland, whats the UK postage rule? Maybe it applies here too. grr!

user2661 09/ 7/2006 #

Royal Mail have recently changed their postage rates so you now pay based on size as well as weight. Anything over 5mm thick but A5 in size is now considered a packet and so costs at least £1, I think. It's all on their website www.royalmail.org but it does seem to be just UK.

Thank you so mucy Sara for your beautiful atc card. You are not a wannabe you are a professional. Your first atc card is that of a very gifted person. Keep it up, and 50's are great, enjoy. Thanks again.

Receive tonynshell3's "lots of love" atc today. It is really neat. The tissue wrapping was great also. Nice way to send a atc card. Thanks. Would have liked to see your bio, but there was none.

Irene, Thanks for the beautiful ATC! I was wondering if you would share about the leaves you used, are they just a normal sticker or die cut? Thanks! Lori
