If we use yo yo makers what size maker would you like us to use.

I believe the end result should be a yoyo approx 3 5/8" across....so whichever size gives you that end result.

thank you kimpe for your question, and I hope you join and enjoy the swap!

hi ladies,

i have been using a yo yo maker to make all my yo yos. you can find them in the sewing accesories section of your craft store the one i use is yellow and the package says extra large on it.

I have just dragged my extra large yo yo maker out and tried it. The biggest I can get is 2 7/8".. even the jumbo size one only makes yo yo's at 3 1/2".. so how does one get a nearly 4" yo yo from a 5" circle?

Same thought here. If you turn under 1/4 and then double over whats left. Hmmm. I have all the sizes of yo-yo makers. Just a tad confused.

Well now that is confusing....I know that if I use a 5" circle, turn it under 1/4" and gather (maybe my stitches are smaller and closer together creating a larger opening in the center) I end up with a yoyo approximately 3 5/8" ...I'm thinking if the end products are as close to that size as you can get...it should work. I have received some yoyo's with no opening at all and they are smaller, but for the projects I use YOYO's on, that smaller size was not an issue for me. I'm not making one large yoyo project so personally if I receive yoyo's of a little different size it won't matter to me. However your partners may feel differently...I'd say check with them once they are assigned

I just wanted to say thanks for a great swap!! My dad had surgery yesterday and while my boys (6&4.5) and I waited, I made yo yo's. They are so simple and yet fun to make and you can carry on a conversation while making them!!

i went back through some of the past yo yo swaps. the actual finished size of your yo yo is approximately 2 3/8 not 3 5/8.

One of the rotary cutter manufacturer's (Olfa?) makes a great circle cutter thingy that you can adjust to whatever size you want. I got mine at Joann's on sale for less than $15. It works sort of like a compass that you used in geometry in high schooll.
