Description:

Wreck this Journal inspired by Keri Smith. Why buy the book when we can just make our own?

STEP ONE - Buy a composition book type of journal..this is necessary for one of the entries

STEP TWO - HAVE FUN with the entries! REMEMBER...to create is to destroy.

Each entry is on one page..or take two..it is your journal that you are going to wreck and then mail off for someone else to enjoy and hopefully have a peek into your thoughts and creative process.

*carry it everywhere. follow the instructions. order isn't important. instructions open to interpretation. experiment!

omg!!! I was hoping someone would make a swap like this!! I am so excited!!!!

melzenitram 06/10/2010 #

i can't wait for it either! i hope everyone has fun with it . a friend sent me the book version and was very motivated.i thought why by the book...let's just MAKE one! :o)

Sarry777 06/10/2010 #

I love the idea and own the book, but be really careful with this. Since you took the ideas directly from the book and did not come up with your own ways to wreck the journal, you're copying something copyrighted. I don't want you or anyone else getting into trouble. I'd suggest changing some of the things just to be safe!

melzenitram 06/11/2010 #

i did i left a lot of things out and did change things...and i didn't say it was mine...i did give credit to the author. it is not my idea at all...just didn't want everyone to have to purchase a book for this swap.

Sarry777 06/11/2010 #

Oh I know you gave credit and I wasn't trying to say anything negative about you or anything at all! I really love the idea of doing this and trading these, it's just a concern about the fact that it's copyrighted. Unless you have specific permission from the publishers, you don't have permission to reproduce from the book even if you do credit the author. I just didn't want you getting into any trouble with the publisher because of it so I thought I'd give you a heads up (I doubt you will get into trouble, but I think you and your swappers should still be aware just in case the worst happens). Hopefully I didn't come across negatively, wasn't my intention!

melzenitram 06/11/2010 #

i'm not really worried about it but if anyone is..they certainly do not have to participate :o)

watchmespinning 06/11/2010 #

Could we use a handmade book for this swap instead of a composition book?

melzenitram 06/11/2010 #

just keep your partner in mind watchmespinning! i don't have a problem with it

kawaiibuttons 06/11/2010 #

regarding copyright.....maybe it would be fine because we are not selling anything, just for swapping....I am not worried at all, sounds fun!

kawaiibuttons 06/12/2010 #

I think it would be neat to mail the journal naked to your partner

kawaiibuttons 06/12/2010 #

I just found this list on Keri Smith's website.... http://www.kerismith.com/popular-posts/100-ideas/ it gives 100 ideas or journal prompts in case you want other ideas for your journal pages...

melzenitram 06/12/2010 #

kawaiibuttons...i think it is a GREAT idea...just tape it up...address it and mail it off without an envelope!

kellylynn9 06/12/2010 #

I think the original book says something about sending it in the mail? I bought it for my niece for Christmas and almost bought one for myself!! :) I can't wait to do this!!

jexxican 06/17/2010 #

I haven't heard of this book, but this sounds like a lot of fun. I don't think I will participate in swapping, but I will definitely make one for myself, some day. I will watch the swap, though, who knows what will happen in the next week.

jexxican 06/17/2010 #

The link that kawaiibuttons posted makes me think that there is no way anyone would get mad at us for doing this. Heck, she is encouraging us to do it. Yeah, we're sending it to someone else, but we're not making profit off it! Cautious is good, but I don't think anyone here needs to worry.

occasiongb6557 06/21/2010 #

I am so jealous I can't do this at this time. Have fun everyone and create some interesting "wrecked" pages...........

druideye 06/26/2010 #

I'm so disappointed I didn't see this USA version before the deadline.

Saristotle 06/29/2010 #

Wish I would have joined this in time. I hope everyone has fun!

HanoraSakura 04/11/2022 #

I wish I had been able to participate sooner. I hope everyone had a good time! 1v1 lol unblocked

HanoraSakura 04/11/2022 #
