Description:

Most states and countries have military bases and most of them have postcards, so let's do a different sort of swap!

One postcard of a military base, any branch of the military. Must also reflect positively on the military. Should also be a current active base, and not a historical site. (unless the base is currently active AND historical, which would be OK) It doesn't have to show the buildings, it may show just something (airplane for instance) which identifies it as a particular branch of the military, as long as it has the base name on the card.

Must be sent naked (not in envelope) with a note to your partner on the card. Card must feature base name with photo. It can be a vintage card, or new. No handmade cards for this, please only store bought.

Must have at least 4.90 to join, and no recent 1's or 3's Must have at least 5 completed swaps. I will check profiles and enforce guidelines. Newbies welcome with filled in profile.

Where do you find a store bought post card for a military base?

BelleSouth 04/15/2010 #

They are usually at the airport, or you can call the base and ask. Sometimes they are in stores near a base, such as a drugstore etc.

Just wondering I live near a base and have never seen a post card for it. Of course there really aren't many tourist attractions around here either. lol

lol!

Usually there are postcards for a base, you may have to call the main number to find out, if you are interested in joining the swap-good luck!

Every exchange that I've been in sells military postcards. If they don't have a tourist spot in the store look in the stationery section.

Are decommissioned forts/bases acceptable....there are some historic Forts such as Fort Morgan, AL, Fort Sumter, SC, Fort Stevens, OR....etc....

Here is are the Military Cards I have so far USA Military If you can, please send me one I don't have :) Thanks!

hmmm, that's a good question @naynay . I think since they would be more an historical monument type of thing, this swap will be for current active ones. Thanks for asking though! I will edit the description.

I had a question from a swapper and I have edited the swap description a little bit. Some base cards may have a picture of one thing (airplane, tank, front gates of the base, etc.) which is fine, as long as the base name is on the card!

Thank you for answering my question! I just wanted to double check. Thanks again!
