PLEASE READ the WHOLE description before joining.

I'm tired of people expecting a package when the swap is for a one-stamp, flat-item, envelope. This swap is intended to control postage costs, with people who understand that we can't turn every swap into a package that costs $5 to send (not to mention the content value!) Not that I've ever done that, or anything.........

Choose items that your partner would like based on their profile that fit in an envelope and use only one stamp (44 cents). That means, if you use MORE than one 44 cent stamp, your partner can rate you a three. It is against swap requirements to use more postage. :)

GET AS CLOSE AS YOU CAN TO ONE OUNCE.

If you receive a package of any kind, using one stamp, you MUST rate a 5. We had some drama with a partner rating three's because her partners didn't send something off of her wishlist. Not okay.

How creative can you be with a one ounce weight limit, lol!? :)

The happy mail swaps I host cost me about $10 in postage for 5 partners. This swap- because controlled- will only cost me $2.50.

I have chosen five partners because I really, really enjoy getting mail. I'd like to achieve mail volume, while not spending a large fortune!

*No unexplained ones or threes in your ratings.

You must have a wish list that includes lightweight, flat items.

*Newbies welcome with filled out profiles. Please go to mine if you need an example. Mine is too long, though, lol!

*Please ask any questions BEFORE you sign up for the swap.

*I have the right to ban participants. I will check every profile. If you feel I might ban you, please send me a message so we can talk about it. I HATE banning people, but I will so my participants feel safe!

DUE TO RECENT REQUESTS: Please note that the point of this swap is to get a much as you can into a one-stamp envie. One postcard is not enough. Try to get it as close to one full ounce as you can, without going over and requiring another stamp! Please send me a message if you have any questions.

I am horrible at checking these comments. Please send me a message if you have a question! Thanks so much.

There is a postal limit on thickness as well. If your envelope is too thick (even if it only weighs an ounce) there is an extra charge of 17 cents, I believe. I know because many one ounce envelopes I mail directly at the P.O get this surcharge. If you mail them from home you might not know your partner is paying the extra amount. I recently got a normally 44cent envie last week and the mail carrier told me I owed an extra 48 cents on it.

@moxsapphir Thank you for sending me a message to bring this to my attention AND posting here for all the participants. I appreciate it! I guess we'll have to be aware of this! COMMUNICATION with your partner is the key.

I hope you do this again soon! I don't feel confident about signing up this month, but would like to another time. :)

Hi Michelle, I know that I have gone over my one ounce, I don't have a scale, and must add stamps from home because of not being able to get out to the PO..I wanted to let you know in advance that I have gone over...Thanks..

@atinagrace The requirements to the swap are clear, however, we're all human. I'm pretty sure this "postal" thing takes practice. You are going to want to let your partners know you did the best you can. I can not control what they rate you! Hopefully, we have a bunch of kind and understanding swappers in this one!

Just a quick note to let my partners know my daughter took my envies to the mailbox. She thought there wasn't enough postage on the envies, so she started putting more stamps on. I got to her before she put extra stamps on all the envies. So some of you ladies have 1 stamp and some had 2.

@chachakate Wow. That's an example of "whatever can go wrong, will go wrong", huh? I would recommend sending a private message to your partners to be sure they know about this.

And Brian, Angel, and Liz wonder why the answer is always, "Nooo, I don't need help. Thank you." :) Hopefully all your partners will understand.
