Participants

  • Open to all members of the Addicted to Stamping group who are in good standings
  • Members who become partially or fully suspended before partners are assigned will be removed from the swap

Details

  • You will send 1 partner 2 cards
  • Make a card based on each of the following sketches for a total of two cards. The sketches are from http://www.pagemaps.com.
  • http://www.pagemaps.com/images/2009/dec/cardmaps/dec095x7b.jpg http://www.pagemaps.com/images/card%20horz/card30.jpg .
  • Each card must contain at least one stamped item (border, image, sentiment, background, etc). If it is hard to recognize what was stamped, please let your partner know what was stamped.
  • Cards must be 3 inches by 3 inches ( 7.62 centimeters by 7.62 centimeters) or larger. That does not mean your card has to be square. It just needs to be larger than 3 inches (7.62 centimeters). For example 3x5in (7.62x12.7cm), 4X6in (10.16x15.24cm), and 5X7in (12.7x17.78cm) cards all meet the requirement .
  • Leave the cards blank inside so that recipients can use them.
  • Include a note with your cards letting your partner know what swap the cards are for.
  • You may begin making your card as soon as you sign up or wait for partner assignments to tailor your card to your partner's favorite colors, themes, etc.
  • When sending your cards, please keep in mind that square envelopes require extra postage in several countries including the USA. You may put a square card in a rectangle envelope.

What else?

  • Feel free to post questions and suggestions for improvement here prior to the sign-up deadline.

Rate Your Partner

  • Please rate your partner ASAP after receiving your item.
  • Please keep in mind that cards coming from a different country may take several weeks or more to arrive.
  • From the FAQ . . . There are only three different rating criteria: I got my stuff and it met posted swap requirements (5 points); I got my stuff, but it didn't meet the posted swap requirements (3 points); I never got anything (1 point). Keep in mind that you are NOT rating your partners on whether or not you liked what you received, only on if it met the requirements of the swap.

Love your idea! I hope we can have more of these swaps. It makes it easier to compare your cardmaking skills with someone else. Who knows you might learn a few tricks :)

I'm going to watch this one and see how much I get done on my DT work before the sign up deadline. I don't want to be over-committed and fall behind again.

@Minney it wasn't all my idea, it came from the idea thread in our group forum.

@FibreJunky sounds like a great idea. We all need to watch our limits so we can meet our commitments without stressing ourselves out.

Thanks for putting up the link to pagemaps.com. I had never heard of it before. I've checked it out and have found some great ideas on it. This is a great idea for a swap. It is nice to have a plan before making cards - makes it go much faster. Thanks for coordinating the swap.

On the second card, does the 3 parallel lines mean that the ribbon ends must be stapled there?

Kathyy 02/ 9/2010 #

Nope, it's a sketch which means you can interpret it any way you want. Could be staples, could be eyelets with string, could be stickers, could be drawn on, could be tiny buttons sewn on with a long thread . . . let your creative and imagination decide :)

Partners are assigned.

What a fun swap! While thinking of ideas for my cards, I found that my Cricut "Life is a beach" has a charm button which puts out perfect little charms for the frist card. Very fun.

Cool maybe you can show us a pic when your cards are done.
