Description:

US only swap--sorry!
Newbies with well filled out Profiles encouraged. All Swap-botters have started as newbies so I definitely understand the frustration newbies have with not being admitted into swaps.

For this swap you will be sending an envelope sized at least 5x7 inches with all sorts of ephemera and doo-hickeys for art work to one partner. This could include but not be limited to: map pieces postcards letters envelopes stamps greeting card fronts foreign language text dictionary pages encyclopedia pages text book pages novel pages VINTAGE magazine pages ribbon decorative papers sewing items buttons old jewelry beads photos-either real photos or scanned photos printed on paper and the list goes on.

It would be courteous and nice to check your partner's profile for any DISLIKES and to get an idea of what your partner can use. However, The items you send are senders choice.

The envelope can be as thick as you like but don't break your budget lol.

PLEASE REINFORCE your envelope with tape at the seams or use a larger envelope, if you think there is a chance it will explode. I would suggest that you put stuff in a baggie in case the envelope tears in transit.

I will check the profiles of anyone with less than a 5.00 average and reserve the right to not include individuals. No recent (within 2 months) 3's or 1's. Please rate your partner at the end of the swap and do give a heart if your partner sent you lots of great stuff.

Have fun!

Not meaning to cause trouble, just being Informational...

One of the recurring definitions of "ephemera" in different dictionaries is:

"Materials, usually printed documents, created for a specific, limited purpose, and generally designed to be discarded after use. ..."

So, it's more like candy/food/misc wrappers, ticket stubs, labels, postcards letters envelopes stamps greeting card fronts (as stated above), and other paper items that are intended to be tossed after one use.

Buttons, books and book parts, old jewelry and stuff like that are not technically "ephemera" but more something like "doo dads" (An unnamed or nameless gadget or trinket.) thingamabobs, doohickeys, and "stuff" (miscellaneous unspecified objects)

LOL--just so we're all on the same page so to speak :)

true, true. But I like doo-hickeys too lol. And doo-hickeys can sometimes be disposed of after one use (like a tag from a loaf of bread for ex)

OK....I know that ephemera is basically paper that had a different "first" use....BUT, is it ok for the envelope to contain mostly doohickeys and not so much ephemera? I have many many many doohickeys (great word) but not so much ephemera and what I do have is not really "authentic." I am signed up and think I could make a nice package for someone so let me know.

It would be fine with me but you may want to check with your partner as well.
