Description:

This is the first swap I've ever coordinated, so any input on it is welcome!

This is a swap for those of you who hold on to lots of paper scraps to use in future projects, including cardmakers, ATC traders, Scrapbookers, bookbinders and multi-media artists! yes I'm talking to you!

I want this to be open to international swappers so that we have a chance to see interesting stuff from around the world. I'm limiting the size of the scraps so that postage shouldn't be too expensive - here's the guidelines

  • Scraps will be sent in a standard #10 business-sized envelope (the kind bills come in!)

  • Stuffed envelope should only require the minimum amount of postage, one stamp for those inside the US, .98 for envelopes heading out of the country (international shippers, use letter post or airmail or whatever is cheapest, but not going to take months)

  • Size: as big as the envelope down to roughly 1/4 the size of the envelope, but no smaller please!

  • Please don't just send an envelope full of solid color paper - boring! Some pieces for collage are ok, but try to mix in some fun patterns.

  • No paper with pencil marks, erase marks, glue, tape, etc - rectangular pieces preferred! Trim them with some scissors!

  • You want to have the envelope be five layers deep - let me explain - either five pieces of paper that are as big as the envelope, or 10 pieces that are half the size of the envelope, or 20 pieces one quarter the size! Arrange them so the envelope isn't fat enough to be charged EXTRA.

Please take care when selecting your scraps - yeah, you might hate that ugly brown paste paper you created last week, but unless your partner's profile says "I just love BROWN paper" don't send it if you wouldn't be happy receiving it!

However, that being said, the swap is SENDER'S CHOICE, so no wish list. It would be great if senders read profiles though, to get a direction to go in.

The sending period is short - you should already have this stuff on hand, please don't buy any paper for this swap.

Open to Newbies who have a nicely filled out profile, but closed to anyone with 1s - I'm going to read everyone's profiles and I might ban you if you have too many unexplained threes.

Being a scrapbooker I have heaps of papers where I have only used small amounts of the whole sheeet, I can't wait to see what I get.

Taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Envelope -so the math is from there, not mine hehe :)

No. 10: 4 1/8 × 9 1/2 inches, 104.8 × 241.3 mm.

Babyamy and other international swappers, if you don't have any envelopes exactly to size, use whatever typical "long and skinny" business type envelope you usually use.

JoyAnne - You're right!

Thanks, that's what I've had in mind to use.

I'm looking forward to sending out some of my nicer left over pieces to get some different types back. I love scrapbooking and card making, so this is my type of swap!

I'm doing a lot of ATCs, I'm hoping to get nice "scrap". I did pick a few of my favourite for my partner. Just waiting for addy to send it out (and profile to watch for any dislikes in colors). =D That's a super good swap idea.
