A Handmade Christmas

Though Christmas is still over two months away it will be here before you know it. I've been doing a lot of thinking about the type of swap I'd like to do here in the Friendship Garden and have decided to host a handmade Christmas swap.

For this swap you will make your partner 2 handmade Christmas themed items. The items are senders choice and the possibilities are endless. Whether your forte is sewing, paper crafts, clay, altering, candle making, jewelry making and so on, there are so many choices. Here's some ideas:

• Christmas stocking
• Christmas tote bag
• Scarf, gloves, hat
• Set of handmade cards (between 3 and 5 at least)
• Ornaments
• Necklace, bracelet, pin
• Altered journal
• Altered tin
• Candles
• Charms
• Bookmark (at least 2)
• ATC's (at least 2)
• Christmas shrine
• Christmas cookies or candy (If making cookies or candy, be sure to ask your partner about allergies and such)

Remember whatever items you choose to make, they need to have a Christmas theme. Be creative and have fun.

Also, please keep in mind that although we all celebrate Christmas, we don't necessarily celebrate it in the same way. Some people don't celebrate the religious aspect(s) and/or don't like to receive religious items. If you plan on making something that contains a religious symbol/icon/picture, etc, please ask your partner first if they are okay with receiving it. Thank you.
