Description:

Have you ever taken an hour to just stop and observe the people and surroundings? Here is your chance to just sit down and note the sights, sounds, smells and thoughts that occur to you from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M., wherever you may be on the day of your choice. Each participant will free-write (no editing your thoughts or writing) on whatever occurs to him or her as they listen and observe - please be honest. You will then send your free write via e-mail or snail mail to your five partners. Have fun comparing your surroundings and observations! Hopefully, this swap will help us discover things and open up conversations about different communities and ourselves. We would also love to see comments on epiphanies, afterthoughts, etc. after you've written and read each observations!

I have extended the sign-up deadline and "send-by" deadline so more people can participate. International swappers and newbies welcome! The more diverse, the better!

A super excuse to sit down with the laptop in a Starbucks or a park bench or in an art gallery and write for an hour. I hope your deadline for signing up isn't so short you won't get enough people for the swap. An hour of paying attention to the world is a form of Zen! wonderful!

Is it okay to send them via email? Can I send my writing and pictures in .pdf format? Thanks a lot! :) -O-

Awww MAN I totally MISSED IT! Ahg! I miss all the good email swaps, haha. Grr. :(

If anyone needs an angel, I'd love to do it. Also if anyone just wants mine and wants to send me theirs for no good reason, I'd love that, too. :P

mail on the way to: Frogman, Kris C. Elusive Callie, Cathy G, and Alex S. I really hope this works because I'm tired of sending stuff and time and often getting only half the responses I should. Please send your stuff, swappers --

Just a quickie question to make sure i understand...

We send the same writing bit to the 5 people? Or are we supposed to send a different one to each? I like to hand-write things instead of typing, so i just want to make sure that i'm doing the correct number.

Also, for the 5 people i have...beawhiz, indiepoptastic, Elizabeth, lindalee, and Incognito27.. I'm going to take pen and paper on my "vacation" next weekend, and write it there, since i think there might be some interesting observations. So, yours should be in the mail around July 10th or so.
