My fiance (husband on Sunday!) is joining the Navy and this is all...bizarre and new and scary to me. Would I still be able to join?

Share your fears and thoughts and ideas about the Military, and also hopfully you can find a penpal (i would love to) that can walk you through the crazy journey that i Military life! Please join!! I agree ButterflyDreams, can we join also Jesshens? I am an Army wife from Australia my husband is currently serving in Afghanistan.. I still have 7 months and 3 weeks to wait to see him again. Kids and I still have a long wait. Let us know if we can join:) love to hear from other defense wives from other side of the world:)

OK Gracie14, I am so totally jealous - how on earth did y'all end up in Australia? I am an Army wife in Germany, but have APO (US addy) My big prob. w/ the swap is I am a terrible letter writer - big on the email. Still thinking about it though. I am an old hand at the deployment thing - 20 yrs in.

I am watching for now, might join, might not. I am not really into letter writing either, more postcards.

FOOF4E I really want to keep this a snail mail swap, I am trying to help people gain life long penpal reltionships with other military wives, I hope that you will consider joining, you 20 years of experience and knowledge would be invaluable to someone like myself (just married into it 2 months ago) and Doodlebabe who is just joining the military. I really hope that you will join, and maybe you can establish an e-palship with your partners after the inital letter swap.

I am not dating, married or engaged to anyone in the military, but I am a daughter (my father is retired Army), sister (my brother is honorable discharge from the army), my best friend married into the navy, and I've adopted 18 US Service Members serving over seas in the last three years. I think this is a wonderful swap as I've become good friends with many of the spouses/family of the members i adopted. I am always available to email/send an encouraging word...enlisted soldier or the one in love with the soldier.

I am a married mom of 7. My husband is a 1st. Lt. in the U.S. Army. We did 14 months in American Samoa, returning to the states for him to attend school at Ft. Benning an Ft. Eustis. He just got new orders last week and we are relocating from Southern Cali to Northern Cali for 3 years. Hoping to meet new friends.
