ATC pen, ink, pencil, markers, paint

sounds like great fun! i love ATCs!!

Interesting how people shy away from drawing and painting ATC swaps. I'm a retired art teacher who still teachers teachers about art in the classroom. Art is imagery and the reason for the explosive popularity of collage as an art form is that one needn't "create" imagery, only find and re-arrange it. Now, I love collage, too, but nurturing the abilty to draw or paint imagery is crucial and satisfying to one's artistic sense of self. So, this is a great idea.

I think there is a timidness of putting pen to paper. Too many people worry about drawing a straight line. This is a swap. The only thing we are truly judged on is making an effort. And like anything else, the more practice the easier it is to do. Great idea!

I am glad to read both of your comments. This is the first time I am painting on an ATC. I am pleased with how they have turned out but not everyone will feel the same way. It has been fun to do it though. Thanks for the swap.

I'm really excited to do this. I've only collaged 2 of the ATCs I've done so far, everything else is a drawing or painting. Yet everything I've received has been a collage. So I'm really looking forward to putting some paintings and drawings into my collection.

I just dropped off enve's for Idamis in PR, Doskie in TX, Lisa in TN, Janet in MA, and Carmen in NV at the Post Office.

And a big thank you to ginm for hosting this swap...it challenged me to draw which is something I haven't done since I was a kid. I had so much fun with it, and it took away the notion that it was something that I couldn't do!
