Description:

Hi swappers!

I'm going to reinstate the monthly junk journal swaps for 2025. I hope there's lots of interest.

The journal you create should:

  • measure 5.5" wide by 8.5" tall (standard 8.5"x11" paper would work for this--just turn it sideways and fold)

  • have a 'January' themed cover

  • binding of choice (loads of YouTube tutorials on binding styles) Pamphlet stitch is probably the simplest, but use anything you like for your binding.

  • have at least 8 UNFOLDED pages (more is fine) This means a stack of 8 entire 8.5"x11" pages, which will double the page count when folded.

You may use an assortment of papers for the journal you create--not all of them will have the same measurement; however, the cover should measure approximately 5.5"x8.5". Please leave plenty of room for journaling. If most of your pages are not suitable for journaling, simply add some extra papers/tucks/etc. inside.

Re embellishing pages: your journal should have several embellishments--a little something on nearly every page. That said, your 'little something' might be a bit of washi tape, a stenciled image, a rubber-stamped image, etc. DO add some tuck spots and pockets as well.

Ideas for January: snow, winter animals, pine trees, winter flowers and greenery, or anything else you choose. Create in your own style.

Hope to see you in the swap!

Would someone share some pictures/info about an example of these that they made or received in a past swap? I would like to know a little more of what is expected before I sign up.
