MMA: Inspiration Card Deck: Round 1

I love the idea of inspiration cards and so I thought this would be a great group to do this swap in.

The idea is to alter a deck of standard size playing cards into a deck of inspirational cards. You will need to sand or roughen up the surface of the cards to make things stick a little better. Both sides of the cards will be painted/collaged/stamped. Unlike altered playing cards, these do not leave the number/suit showing in the corner.

Paint, stamp and/or collage on your cards, keeping all additions flat. These cards will end up on either a ring or perhaps in a box, so they will need to be flat. Keep adding paint and some collage elements until you are happy with the result.

Then, using found words, printed words, stamping, or, if you have neat handwriting, write on one side of the cards an inspirational quote, saying or even just a simple word. Just be sure its legible and easy to read.

We will make 3 cards this round. Each swap will be for either 3 or 4 cards.

I know there are slight differences in playing card sizes so we will use what we have. As long as it is in the range of a typical card deck used for bridge or poker, that is fine.
