Don't shoot the messenger...

Your a Vampire of the new age. Your Prince has charged you with the task of intercepting a rival clans messenger, destroying him/her and bringing back the document without reading it. But...surely one little peek wouldn't hurt?

Right?

Bad decision. It's alerted the enemy that their messenger has fallen and they're hunting you. The only thing you can do is slip it into a mailbox and hope it gets to your Prince because right now, your fighting for your life....

Alternatively, you can be a member of a human investigation team who have stumbled across the supernatural predators that stalk the living.

• For this swap you will be immersing yourself in The World of Darkness games and choosing one of the clans that you belong to and that of the intercepted message. I'll provide links if you are unsure, but I feel this is a swap everyone can do whether you've played a WoD game before or not.

• I'm not a sage of VtM so do feel free to correct me but i'm setting this after the Timeline of Requiem so all new Clans (like The Circle of the Crone) can be used. Basically the most up to date setting. Later on, I will be doing more of these style swaps set in other settings too :)

If you don't want to use WoD or want to be creative and add your own, then the message can be from one of the new clans that are sprouting up and which the elders wish to quash.

The craft part

Comes in two parts.

• First, you have to make the message. Is it an old scroll with the enemy clans seal on? A simple scrap of paper? It's upto you. I'm leaving this largely open to your imagination and interpretation.

What the message is about is also entirely upto you. A love note? Order for an assassination? Location of a secret? Identity of a mole? A red herring? Shopping list? ;) Please do add the enemies mark on it as that would be typical for verification.

• The second part is to find or make something that the message was concealed within. A playing card with the message attached to the back? Inside a false compartment of some kind? Inside a pack of resealed gum?

Get your spy brain working :)

With shipping costs i'm thinking that the item should be something small and besides, the original "courier" would have needed to transport it on their person as an everyday item.

Alternatively, is it a body part? Proof that an assassination has been executed. Would you rather make a vampire item? Gangrel wolfs head, Toreador Rose etc

• Pass on this hot potato. Unfortunately, you're now being hunted by the enemy clan so you've had no option but to mail the message onto a trusted ally (Your swap partner) to deliver it to the Prince by hand.

Apologies for late addition, but include a small note to your ally (swap partner) explaining the situation and signed by you. This way we can get to know a little about who your vampire is. How elaborate and detailed the note is I will leave to your discretion.

To recap:

• Make a message you've intercepted from the enemy clan

• Make/buy the item to conceal it in

• Mail it to your ally (swap partner) with a small note about yourself included.

When all swaps are received we'll put it all together and see what everyone came up with.

This swap is international and all the usual rules apply. I doubt anyone will have difficulties with partners so your blood wont need draining... unless you want it to.

I wanted to do something different to ATC swaps and the like, so hope you have fun with it.
