Jane Austen was no stranger to “Currie”, the recipe for curry powder as well as one to make a curry dish. appear in Martha Lloyd’s Home book, Martha having living with Jane, her mother and sister, after the death of her father, and later marrying Francis Austen, Jane’s younger brother.
