Special Interest Letter: Learn Something New!

Are you the kind of person who develops an interest in something, then spends all of your time researching it? Even if you don't emerge from the situation as an expert, you at least have plenty to talk about. The problem? Not too many people share your passion, or really even want to hear about it. Or you did become an expert, and no one outside of your classmates or coworkers are interested. Bummer.

Well, this swap is the answer! You will be writing one letter to one partner about one such interest. It should be the equivalent of at least one single-spaced typed page, or 2 -3 handwritten letter/A4-ish-sized pages. It can definitely be longer and can be formatted however you like, as long as it meets the spirit of the minimum length. Use stationary or embellish it yourself (doodles, washi or stickers, printed/sketched images/diagrams related to the topic, things like that). It doesn't have to be super pretty, just a bit interesting to look at.

Please limit the topic to something vaguely in the academic sphere -- no pop culture/tv shows/bands/movies. Avoid politics and religion (history is ok). Please keep it as objective as possible. And finally, please try to use simple terminology, and explain anything your partner may not know. Ideally, your partner wants to learn! And you and your partner may have different native languages.
